What wholesale companies do retailers use to buy electronics such as phones, dvd player, digital cameras?
I know that I may not get alot of answers but I am looking for real wholesale companies that are trustworthy. This is why I ask what companies do stores buy their electronics from. I prefer store managers that place the orders to answer my question or employee's that know where other places buy their electronics, I really want to open a small business and want to deal with companies I know big companies use any suggestions?

ok....the person above gave you allibaba.com. Thats only a good website for Chinese junk. If you are looking for NAME brand products, you have to go through a distributor. All manufacturers give their products to distributors. The distributors do the job of selling it at wholesale prices to the retail stores. What you need is a retail license, a business license, and maybe a resale license. Here are some distributors. A distributor can carry hundreds of products from different companies. You have to apply and get accepted. You will most likely when you get all the licenses required. These distributors can have tons of electronics, Linksys, NETGER, APPLE, and more

What should I set as the wholesale price of my meditative solo piano CD?
What is the standard wholesale price? Should my wholesale price be the same when selling to companies outside the US?
Michael S
Question answered by AbFab
A regular CD can be anywhere from 9.99 to 22.00 retail,
but that's in a competitive market which includes many
outside expenses. If you're making this yourself and have
a fairly low overhead, the rule is to figure out how much it
costs you to make each CD, including art work, distribution expenses, phone, printing, studio time if applicable, etc., down to the last penny. Factor in anything related to manuf.
Remember, retailers usually double their money on these
things. If you target health food stores and new age
boutiques, you probably can sell it wholesale for around $8.00
so the retail would be $16.00 or $18.00. If you're just
starting out and unknown, perhaps less until you get
a following. The idea is to get your music out there on
the market first and build up. Good luck, this field can
be lucrative. Even though there's fierce competition
from the big, low cost retailers out there, your brand of
music hasn't hit Target yet so you're in luck. If selling
outside the country, you have to factor in shipping,
customs and a lot of added expenses to boot. I'd suggest
you pick a few CD's similar to the kind you want to
make and check the companies that distribute them
on the back, give them a call and perhaps someone
there will take the time to let you know just where to
go and how much to charge...they might even want to
distribute your music themselves, you never know.
How do I get wholesale direct from manufacturers?
Where do I look to find wholesale products direct from manufacturers, do I need a business license, and what is the typical minimum order? Would I be better off starting with wholesale distributors?
Question answered by
There are a few ways you can do to get direct manufacturer contacts.
1. The item you are getting, check for contacts around the packaging. ie. inside cases, any stickers or stuff.
2. Wholesale portals ie. www.alibaba.com. However, a subscription is needed for their services.
3. Network. Ask around. Ask friends/families or anyone you know who is in the industry od your target item. Ask the shop for distributor contact...then distributor for manufacturer contact...etc etc. Most won't share because they'd be inviting competition, but don't take my word for it.

License:
I believe in most cases you must have at least a registered business name and the license that corresponds to the type of business you are in. In your case, I believe it's a trading or import/export license.
Technically you can start doing business without such things... though for import/export/trading, it will be needed because there will be legal documents that have to be created that requires license and a business entity.
Check with your local government business agency and ask them about it.

There are pros and cons for going straight toward the manufacturer. It depends on what you want also.
If you are doing retail, it would make much more sense to deal with distributors because they would have taken the risk out of importing and usually handles its own logistics (ie. delivery). The downside being because the goods goes through one more channel, the price will be higher.
If you are intending to do distribution yourself, then going straight to the manufacturer is ideal. Getting from another distributor just makes the cost of the goods higher for your customers.
Then again, it depends on what goods you are dealing with. Manufacturers for simple, non-technical and small sized goods (ie. mugs, screen protectors, etc etc) do deal directly with retailers as well, because all they ahve to do is to pack and ship.
Whereas for more complex goods (ie. radios), if you are a retailer, getting from a distributor would be better because the distributor would usually handle the service and repair as well.
I hope I helped

What must I do to receive a wholesale license and a sellers permit?
I want to be able to buy wholesale items off of the internet and I want to be able to re-sale the items on eBay, yard sells, and flea markets. Eventually I want to own a beauty supply store but I'm just starting out small right now and working my way up. So what type of license and permits do I have to get in order to sale these items and where do I go to get them? Thank you.
I forgot to add that I live in North Carolina.

Question answered by -
There is no "wholesale license" and you won't need any kind of permit. You can just go buy the stuff and resell it. SOME wholesalers may ask for a "business license" or proof of your incorporation so that they can legally sell you the items without collecting tax, but when you get to that path ,you can cross it.

How do i sell at retail and wholesale without breaking the law?
If your a wholesaler you cant sell at retail and a retailer cant sell at wholesale. Yet companies have ways of doing this in a legal way. For example: Microsoft Xbox distributes there Xbox product to stores at at wholesale prices but you can also buy the product directly from the Microsoft retail website. How do they get around these wholesale laws? If i wanted to do something similar do i have to create a new company and have 2 companies 1 for retail and 1 for distributing wholesale? Thanks
Question answered by douglas
What laws are you talking about? Retailers can sell wholesale to anyone with a resale permit. Retail prices are determined by the cost of goods and can be changed at any time by the seller. As a store owner for over 19 years there are no laws restricting sales regarding retail/wholesale except that sales taxes are collected on retail sales and none on wholesale sales. I was free to set my own prices based on the free market and the cost of my product.

What is the difference between Wholesale and retail?
With regards to consumables or any other product I always heard about Retail and wholesale, what are these things? For example if I buy a blank CD from a particular shop( presuming wholesale) it costs me much lesser than if I buy it from a shop near to my house. Does wholesale mean at lesser rate?

Question answered by ADY
No.. Wholesale is not the thing u r thinking of. U just cannot buy a product from a wholesale shop.
I will try and explain the terms by giving an example.
A factory produces items which it sells to a wholesale shop dealer. These items are of less cost.
The retail shopkeeper ( that's next door shop) buys some amount of the items from the wholesale shop and then adds the service tax, octroi, etc and yes his profit in its cost and then sales it item to the customers.
