How do I explain how important weddings are to my boyfriend?

Every girl knows what im talking about. You know, why weddings, dressing up, and walking down the aisle are such huge dreams of girls. My boyfriend thinks it's stupid and doesn't think when we get married, that we should have a wedding and that it's a waist of money. Can you list some reasons why it's so important and why every detail is important? I can't seem to explain my feelings towards this.

lala

Question answered by lolly

Well weddings aren't important to everyone. A lot of people are interested in being married, but the actually wedding itself doesn't mean as much to them. But the point should be, that a nice wedding is important to YOU. You don't need to convince him why it is important to everyone else, just convince him why it is important specifically to you.

At what age should I expect to attend the most weddings?

I'm 21 now and I've only attended two weddings in my entire life. I love everything about them! I always hear about people on yahoo answers planning their weddings and attending them. In the movies, people are always going as well. I realize I'm still quite young, and so are all of my friends, but what is the average age that I should expect the people I know to start getting married? I guess a more appropriate way to ask this question would be: What is the average age for marriage nowadays?

Jester

Question answered by Perse

Not sure, it probably varies. I am 26 now and the last two years have been filled with weddings, including my own. Many of my friends have 5 years on me though. When you get closer to marrying age, chances are your cousins and siblings and friends will be taking steps towards marriage too. In North America, the average age for a first time bride or groom is between 26-29, on the lower end for brides, and the higher end for grooms.

Are weddings evidence that materialism does not work?

By now it should be obvious, weddings are the brides ultimatum which can never be satisfied. The truth is you can never by your childhood imaginings back, but still the bridezilla is an all too common occurrence. Now something even worse; imagine a world full of bridezilla's and groomzilla's due to materialism. Your thoughts please.

Question answered by Debra D

Weddings are indicative of what the marriage is going to be like and the character of the two people getting married. I watched a TV show with two couples whose outdoor weddings had been ruined by a freak snowstorm in California. The one couple showed videos of the bride and groom sliding down hills and having snowball fights with each other and the guests. They couldn't change the weather so they had fun with it. That's how they'll deal with life and they were funny and happy on the show. The other bride was crying like a baby and acting like it was the end of the world. She was crying on the show and it had been 2 years since the wedding. Her husband looked like he wanted to shoot her.

How do you become a band to play at weddings?

I have a band we created just to play at weddings and stuff. How exactly do I go about setting that up? Music style, getting hired, etc. Thanks!

Question answered by . . .

No offense - I cannot tell from your question, because it is so short. Are you ADULTS - able to legally sign a contract, open a DBA, maintain a business checking account. etc? I own an agency north of NYC, and we provide small ensemble of classical musicians for weddings, parties, Viennese balls, etc. The MUSIC part is maybe ten percent of your concern - it is the BUSINESS part that is huge. Write back with more info - I will try to help more. Added - OK - I just checked your other questions, and apparently, you are about 14 years old. Most catering facilities will NOT hire people under the legal drinking age to play there. If they hire wait staff that is under 18, they KNOW these people (and they can make sure they do not handle liquor) - but for you to be in-and-out - not gonna happen. Now - you would be in competition with all the PROFESSIONAL groups that already have an enormous repertoire, great equipment, CONTACTS with all the venues and catering facilities, wedding planners, etc. I spend more in advertising in a year that what your band's total equipment is probably worth. I have owned this business since 1984. You might want to start by playing for dances, etc., for people nearer your own age. If you were NOT in this band - would you want to hear them for a dance? Did somebody just tell you that the Big Bucks in the music business is in wedding bands? You need to *pay your dues* - the old-school term for working your way UP, by playing all kinds of gigs. Many will be for short money - most will be for NO money. Heck, you cannot even DRIVE yourself to a gig yet! Who would hire a wedding band where *Daddy* has to drive you there??? So - this is a good goal for SEVERAL years from now. Remember - just because it is popular music, you WILL be competing eventually with people with DEGREES in popular, commercial, or digital music. Because of the economy, more and more people are hiring DJs for the dance portion of the day; we do ceremonies and cocktail hours mainly,, and have seen a HUGE downturn in business - many people are either cutting way back, or just not getting married - just living together. The ripest area for new work is in states that legalize gay marriage. Think this thru - how many years until you are *legal* in YOUR state? (And spare me "I know this guy, and his uncle owns this place where this band plays . . " - because if his UNCLE wants to assume the risk - fine - do YOU have an uncle that owns a venue, and will send you gigs? And would stake his business callbacks on you?)

How are beach weddings like? Can you guys tell me what people do at beach weddings?

Im getting married in 8 months and i need to start planning! how should i start planning my beach wedding? What do people do at the weddings? what are some things needed for a wedding? Please help?

Question answered by Rachel

Beach Wedding Timeline 1. Choose your location wisely. Beaches are usually breezy. Try to pick a cove or area protected from direct winds for your ceremony. Be mindful of the tides. 2. Decide how many guests will be attending. Most beaches do not require a special permit for small informal weddings. Check with local authorities to be sure. 3. Find a wedding officiate local to the beach of your choice to perform your wedding ceremony. Often they specialize in beach weddings and can provide useful tips as well as very affordable package deals. Wedding packages are becoming very popular and are ideal for busy couples. Often they include everything you need from the bouquet to the photography to the filing of your marriage license. 4. Minimize your reception expenses by planning a sunset ceremony followed by a simple but elegant wine and cheese reception right on the beach. 5. Rent an outdoor canopy to protect your reception area from rain showers and uninvited seagulls. For a tropical flare, decorate the canopy with tulle and twinkling mini-lights and silk flowers. Use hurricane candles for lighting. 6. Remember your guest's comfort and safety. Provide seating for the elderly as well as sunscreen and insect repellent just in case. If some of your guests have mobility impairments recognize that it's nearly impossible to push a wheelchair in the sand, and it's very hard for people who have difficulty walking to negotiate sand as well. Many beaches have walkways or platforms. Use these accordingly. 7. Thank your guests for sharing your day by presenting them with beach wedding favors such as personalized sand-dollars, seashell candles or Hawaiian Silk Leis. How to find weddings in my area to offer photography services?

I have never photographed a wedding before, however I would like to start and I have to start somewhere! I would firstly like to offer my services for free so they could possibly even pay for another photographer if they don't trust me to capture the event well enough. How would I begin with this? I am from Essex (UK) so how would I find weddings in my area to get started? Or how else would I do it if this is a bad idea? Please help! :)

Question answered by photog

DO NOT ever offer to do weddings for free just to get some experience. Find wedding photographers in your area and ask if you can shadow them or even assist as a second shooter or gofer. You will learn more by working with an experienced wedding shooter than you ever will trying to do this on your own.

What are some cheap places to hold both weddings and receptions in the suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul?

I just got engaged last week and am looking for a place that does both weddings and receptions for cheap. I would also like it if they included a dj, linens, decorations, flowers, etc. Please let me know!

m_hauglid

Question answered by CarbonDated

Depends on the number of guests. There are a number of nice restaurants in both Mpls and St Paul that have space specifically for weddings/receptions, but they are usually limited to 50-75 guests. One restaurant in St. Paul included EVERYTHING including the cake, flowers and background music (no place for dancing so no DJ).

What are the websites where I could find information on royal weddings across different countries?

Where should I look and How do I become a caterer/server for weddings etc for a summer job? (winter park, fl)?

I'm really interested in serving food at receptions, weddings, fancy parties etc, but whenever I search for job openings online, the only thing that comes up are chef positions etc. I'm 17 and looking for a fun summer job, so any suggestions for how to find this would be great thanks!

Question answered by Cranky

You're in the perfect place on earth for this type of position. Disney is always in need of servers and food help. Apply there. And, they also do weddings. Getting a position there would really give you a good overview and experience in the food world. If that doesn't work, start applying to local caterers. You can do all of your ground work in either of these job resources. It will teach you all about this world of catering. They're just great places to start. You might also want to consider a resort in your area. They prepare and serve food. The resources are endless. All it takes is an application. You'll do great. Now, go do it!

How do you see the other characters weddings in Rune Factory 2?

Because I have seen videos of other characters weddings on youtube, but that never happened to me. So I was wondering how did they get it to happen?

Question answered by Salt Water

Each of the rival weddings happens on a certain day. They go in this order: Jake and Ceci's Wedding, 14 Summer, 2nd Year Ray and Rosalind's Wedding, 17 Spring, 3rd Year Barrett and Dorothy's Wedding, 17 Autumn, 3rd Year Max and Julia's Wedding, 11 Winter, 4th Year If you are already married to the girl, the rival wedding will of course not happen. I'm not positive, but you might have to be friends with the people in the couple to be invited. I had full FP with them so I don't know if it works if you are not friends. So you might want to befriend them just to be safe.
