Question answered by demonguy71

If you go to your local auto parts store, check out the cleaning supplies. You should be able to find a red bottle of Mother's Back to Black. This product will remove the wax residue from plastic.

What kind of wax can be used on shower door glass to prevent etching from hard water?

I have heard that wax will prevent hard water from etching glass but don't know what type of wax to use. I am replacing glass door as old one is etched and spots cannot be removed. I don't want this to happen again.

Question answered by bobcat97

I would use the spray wax/detailers meant for use on cars. They clean the surface but are safe for the clear coat on car finishes, so they'll be safe for your glass. They also protect against dirt and pollutants in the air, so they should do a pretty good job protecting from hard water stains if used regularly. They're easy to use, fairly inexpensive, and do a great job. We use them on our vinyl and laminate floors as well as the porcelain in our tub and sink, and they work great. We don't have glass shower doors, so I can't speak to those specifically, but I would think it would work pretty well. Meguiars makes a nice spray detailer wax you can pick up at an autoparts store or somewhere like Wal-Mart or Target. Good luck!

What is the melting points of Beeswax, Soywax and Paraffin wax?

I want to know the melting points of these 3 waxes to compare them. Can someone please help me?

Questionable Guy

Question answered by pisgahchemist

Trick question. Waxes don't have specific melting points. At best you would find a range over which they would get progressively more soft until they form a liquid. This might be useful: "There are three main types of paraffin wax: low melt point, medium melt point and high melt point. Low melt point was has a melting point of 130 degrees and higher, medium melt point has a melting point of 130-145 degrees and high melt point has a melting point of 145-150 degrees in general. Low and medium melt point paraffin wax is softer and used in container candles, high melt point paraffin is used in mold and pillar candles. Soy wax has a melt point of anywhere from 120-160 degrees. Beeswax has a melt point of 158 degrees. Palm wax and bayberry wax have a melt point of 130 degrees and up. Depending on the blend or additives added to the waxes the melt point can change, always check manufacturer labels for the exact melting point of your wax." What are the active ingredient of the wax used in waxing?

Waxing is a popular way of removing hair, but what is so special about it? What ingredient/s makes it also a good method?

Question answered by Koko

It is just wax, the wax is spread on warm allowed to harden and grasp the hairs, when it's pulled off it removes the hair from the follicle, this process can inhibit hair growth anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks depending on your hair growth. It can be painful the first time or two but generally it gets better and well worth it imo.

What is the difference between a Hollywood wax and normal wax?

Question answered by Go Organic!

Hollywood takes off everything. Brazilian leaves a strip.

How do you get wax (the kind of wax used in a beauty salon) out of a silk top?

At the beauty salon, as the beautician was waxing my legs some wax flew up onto my silk top. I took it to the dry cleaners who said that it was unlikely they would be able to get the stain out. They suggested soaking the top in cold water for one hour. I tried it but it didn't work. Will get it dry cleaned to see if that works.

Question answered by leah c

If you use hot water it will break down the wax and be set in the material. Take a brown paper sack, and place it over the waxed area. Use a clothes iron and set it nearly on the hottest selection and iron the area. it may take a few tries, if it does not get it out the first time cover with plastic and ice the area and repeat(must harden it back to prevent spreading. If the wax has any color(I know ours is a very deep yellow) and the material is white or light in color, you may need a dry cleaner to remove color, but highly unlikely. hope this helps!

How can i stop waxing from making me spotty?

Question answered by sassyone

i got this trick from my husband actually...he told me to try it and I figured...it couldn't hurt. At bath and body works they sell a cooling gel in their men's section. It's meant for shaving to stop razor burn...but when I use it on areas I've waxed, it doesn't turn red or blotchy. It stings like a m*ther f*cker, but works. I started waxing at night and put it on before I go to bed so I can wash my face in the morning and not smell like my husband after shaving lol.

How to remove candle wax from carpet?

Somehow molten candle wax got dropped in my carpet and its really hard now. How can i remove it without destroying my carpet?

Reshmi P

Question answered by anniewalker

The first thing you need to do is remove as much of the hardened wax as you can. A butter or putty knife works well for this but you can use anything with a dull blade. Scrape up what you can and vacuum the debris. Next place a clean cloth, paper bag or paper towel over the wax. Run a warm iron over the cloth until the wax melts. A hot hair dryer can also be used. Once the wax is melted, it should adhere to the cloth. Lift the cloth and the wax should lift with it. It should be noted that if the wax is colored, it may stain your carpet. Anytime you apply heat to a stain, it causes the stain to lock into the fibers leaving you with a permanent reminder of your clumsiness. It's for this reason you should use a warm iron only. You also don't want to use newspaper or any kind of paper with words or pictures on it unless you want the image to be transferred to your carpet.

How can i remove candle wax from cotton?

I spilled candle wax on cotton clothes can someone tell me the easiest way to remove it?

Aliya

Question answered by Gary C

Use a dull knife or a spoon to scrape off as much wax as you can. Then stretch the cloth across a glass or bowl with the wax on the bottom side. Pour boiling water from a height of about six inches above the cloth so the hot water goes through the part of the cloth that has the wax on it. Repeat until the wax is gone.

How do you get rid of ear wax with hydrogen peroxide?

I have a lot of wax in my ear and it has gotten hard over time and I wanted to know what is the safest way to get rid of this wax using hydrogen peroxide. All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S. No rude comments please. Thank you!

Mary

Question answered by gravehopper

I don't know about using hydrogen peroxide, but I know that you can get into a hot shower and put just a dab of mineral oil in your ear, and when the hot water starts to hit it (your ear) the wax will start coming out (even if you have really thick ear wax - my ex-fiance had the same problem and his dr told him to do this and it worked and believe me his was thick) Best of luck to you and I hope it works for you !!!!!
