How can a new estabilished business meet the training requirements to sponsor an overseas employee?

The business is a small take away food shop in. sydney. The training is part of 457 program

Question answered by Ozmaniac

It won't be easy for a business of that type. If your business has been operating for less than 12 months, you must be able to demonstrate that you have an auditable plan to meet the training benchmark. Examples of ways to meet the training benchmark include, but are not limited to: • paying for a formal course of study for the employees who are Australian citizens and Australian permanent residents or for TAFE or University students, as part of the organisational training strategy • funding a scholarship in a formal course of study approved under the Australian Qualifications Framework for the business’s employees who are Australian citizens and Australian permanent residents or, for TAFE or University students, as part of the organisational training strategy • employment of apprentices, trainees or recent graduates on an ongoing basis in numbers proportionate to the size of the business • employment of a person who trains the business’s Australian employees who are Australian citizens and Australian permanent residents as a key part of their job. In my previous answer, I should also have stressed that an employee sponsored as a cook must be employed as a cook by the sponsoring business on a full time basis; must be paid at least $51,400 per annum (unless the Market Salary Rate for a cook is higher than that) and must be able to obtain a positive skills assessment from TRA under the 457 skills assessment program. http://www.deewr.gov.au/Skills/Programs/SkillsAssess/TRA/457Assessment/Documents/457Guidelines.pdf EDIT: Here's a link regarding training benchmarks: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/_pdf/faq-457-training-benchmarks.pdf

Question answered by Kernow Lady

If you have permission to work here then you can open a business. You rent/lease a shop, the LL will do credit checks. You apply for A3 permission for selling food from the council. You will need Food Hygiene/Safety certificates, public liability Insurance. It will have to be inspected by Environmental Health from your Council before you can open. You will need a business bank account, and you will have to register as self employed with HMRC. You will have regular inspections by your Council. UK

4 Days in New York - Any good shops or food shops to visit?

Im going to New York in November for 4 days. The first day we're going to Statue of Liberty as its the furthest away, we've bought Empire State Building Tickets. Ive already decided im visiting M&M World, Toys R Us and Macy's and also Ice Skating. Is there any other good shops and especially food shops to try? Our hotel is right near Empire State Building so we're staying right in central Manhattan.

Question answered by Winning!

The answer from "Mr. Danger" is absolutely spot-on, of course, but he forgot one... Balducci's, which is the OTHER "best food store in the USA!" Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage all about Balducci's, which has a couple of different locations in New York City...

Is the traditional Fish and Chip shop on the decline?

It seems many Fish and Chip shops these days are run by Chinese immigrants, and now seem to have Chinese takeaways as their main business, and Fish and Chips as a secondary business. In fact, it isn't uncommon to by a portion of chips and for the chips to taste strongly of Chinese food. On the whole, it seems take-away food like Indian, Chinese and Kebabs are more popular now, and that the traditional fish and chip shop has become an unsustainable model.

Question answered by SB

Yum, fish & chips! Where I live, they are not at all on the decline - though it is by the seaside. Thinking about it, I don't think I have ever seen a Chinese person running a chip shop. I don't really see why it matters? People moan and say they come here for benefits, so they start working and putting into the system, yet people still moan?? If you don't like somewhere, don't eat there again, simple as that really. Life's too short to be worrying about your chip shop food.

What are your feelings towards this woman?

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2399352.ece This woman has the time to go to fast food shops but not the time to cook some veggies for her kids! I think she is vile and should have her kids taken away from her until she actually understands why what she is doing to them is wrong! Don't forget - these kids are 8 Months old!

Question answered by Gayle S

Hi I really do think that you should get your facts totally right before you pass judgement on who is a bad mother or not there are children being sexually abused and beaten out there and just because a mother gives her children fast food it don't mean that she is a bad mother. I think that you have no right to say if the young children need to be taken away I have 2 kids of my own and thay have a very good balanced diet I would be so angry if some one said that about me

Should I choose a trip to Peru or South Korea? How to convince my parents to let me go?

My parents are planning a two week trip in the summer to hike Machu Picchu and live with the locals for a "native" experience. They will be covering the costs since its a family trip and we will also be traveling with extended family. A close friend of mine (she's basically like my sister) is going to South Korea this winter to visit her extended family, since she hasn't seen them since she was young. Although I know her very well, I have never met her extended family. However she's not concerned about the trip and is confident that I'll be comfortable traveling with her. We will also be traveling with her older brother (without their parents). Since this is not a family trip, I will probably end up paying for it, although I'm not concerned about the expenses. My friend says we will be saving on costs by staying at her family's houses all over the country. We will mostly be spending on food, shopping and transportation. Here's the deal: I'm not particularly fond about traveling with my family at all. My parents insist on inviting family to our trips and I hate it because its so stressful. Negotiating this with them is not an option - I either stay at home this summer or go with them and deal with my family's insanity. It never works out, and I know this from past experience. I will undoubtedly have more fun with my friend, and we will be able to do whatever we want (I'm not suggesting we're going to get into trouble though, we're good kids). I am saving money and also learning Korean in preparation for the trip. My parents are very traditional and are worried that I will be raped by either the older brother or male family members of her family, and are hesitant about letting me go for those safety reasons because they don't personally know her extended family. They have never let me stay over at any family's place where a male member is present - which basically means I am not allowed to travel/sleep over with anyone. However, I put full trust in my friend to not intentionally put me in any danger as she knows her family better than I do and would never hurt me for any reason. This is essentially my first trip without parental support, which is why they are nervous about giving me permission. However, I have lived away from home before without them - once for a short two weeks in a summer program abroad, and for one year I lived at a city-based, urban college three hours from home (I transferred due to financial reasons/career changes, nothing related to my independence). I can legally drive and have a lot of experience with the process of traveling - I have traveled at least once every year since my infancy. As long as I have access to money and a place to stay, I am confident I can get around by myself. All three of us (me, my friend and her brother) are college-aged students and all of us have experience taking care of ourselves. I am DYING to go with my friend as we've been planning this for years now. I have to choose either Peru or Korea. What do you recommend based on this information?

B

Question answered by Nin10dude

Since your family has a great deal of concern (the people hosting you raping you??) it would be quite difficult to make them agree to let you go. My family is a bit similar to yours, though not quite extreme. Family trips always have issues, while travelling with friends allows a sense of freedom to do something you normally wouldn't with your friends. Of course, I would urge you to go with your friend-- it isn't very often you get such a chance. South Korea is one of the most safest and advanced countries in the world, and in most places, more so than the United States, and especially Peru. Since you've got plenty of travel experience, and a really good friend along with you, you wouldn't be very likely to run into any problems. Given all this, its up to you to influence your parents. You've been able to travel away from family for education, and I feel that they're hesitant since this one is for leisure. If you can make them feel that this will be a true experience to explore without being held down by family, then perhaps they may let you go. You know your family best, its up to you how you tackle this.

What do do when a toldder have a tantrum on the floor?

I just went to food shopping, my 2 years old son throw a tantrum right on floor, he refuses to walk and started screaming. I have bags in my hand, I didn't know what to do, luckily someone came to help us. But he has being doing this so often lately, and he's getting heavier and heavier to be drag along, especially I had bags in my hand. What do you do in this situation?

??

Question answered by Marina

My son pulled this more than once, and it is a very tough and very humiliating situation! I know this might sound harsh, but one day I left him on the floor and walked away from him. Yes, terrible parent that I am, I actually walked away from my son in the grocery store as he was throwing a fit. Guess what happend? He kept up the fit but then looked up and saw that mom was gone and stopped the tantrum. Try it out, but naturally you'll want to stay somewhat close by so you can see that he is safe, etc. I ducked into an aisle and poked my head around the corner to make sure he was ok. Stop paying attention to the fits and afterwards remind him that he will not get results acting that way.

What is the best place for Christmas vacation?

My husband, our little dog and I want to go away for Christmas. We live in NC. What is the best place to go for a 7 or 8 day Christmastime vacation that's about a day's drive from Raleigh, NC? We're not skiers, hunters or adventurers. We're both in our late sixties. We both enjoy beaches, scenery, shows, good food, shopping and other relaxing forms of entertainment. We don't want to go anywhere that it's going to be colder than the Raleigh area.
