In plants, the storage polysaccharide is starch and the structural polysaccharide is cellulose. In animals, the storage polysaccharide is glycogen. Animals do not have structural polysaccharides.

How does a storage heater work with only one dial to set the output.?

Have moved into a new flat and the livingroom has a storage heater. It has 2 electrical supplies into it, one from a dual supply consumer unit and the other from the normal consumer unit. This heater has a built in convector which is turned off (small switch on the side). The heater has only one dial to set the output, nothing to control the input. It is always very warm, even set to minimum all the time and my first elec bill laid me flat on my back. How is the input set??? It is a Dimplex FCXA and i cant find info for this model on the net, and of course the info i can find on storage heaters tells me there should be 2 dials, input and output. Can anyone give me a good answer please, Thanks. Rum_the_cat.

Sound like they're faulty. Are you eligible for a grant and have another source of central heating put in? Storage heaters are notouriously expense to run and you need to be on the economy seven tariff and do all your washing and cooking at night to even out the cost. I think the ones you have have been discontinued. storage and organization products that are fairly easy on the eye?

I'm looking for storage products that are fairly attractive, like ok to be out in the living room. Everything I see looks too "containerish" or meant for an attic or huge and designed for school classrooms. Anyone know of any large storage products that aren't so bulky and storage looking? (for kids toys, extra blankets, magazines etc. just basic storage needs) It's ok if the design is targeted for children. that's fine. I'm not just not interested in the large bin types.

you could make a large bench seat with a flip up lid for storage, then get a nice cushion for on top to have extra seating. they have large coffee tables that flip up for storage also

Look for wardrobe storage boxes. They are tall enough to hang clothes in and meant for that. You should be able to get them at a moving supply place. They won't be cheap but will save you a lot of trouble when you need the clothes again. Close the boxes with packing tape and they should keep the clothes unwrinkled and dust free, and make sure your storage area is dry. If you're worried about dampness at all, get some bags from a drycleaner to put the clothes in inside the boxes, and maybe tape some plastic around the bottom of the boxes.

How long can a TV be in storage and still operate at a later date?

I have to place my items in storage for about 6 months. I am wondering if the TV will still operate when I go to remove it. I've heard if you do not turn on electronic items for long periods of time sometimes they freeze or die. Does anyone know? Thanks!

It needs to be kept within limits of temperature and humidity, which should be spelled out in the owner's manual. LCD is more prone to freezing (it's a liquid, after all) than CRT or plasma. If you have to put the TV in an unheated storage locker, either put a space heater (on low) in the locker (if allowed) or cover it with a thick blanket if heaters are not allowed. Just sitting idle at approximately room temperature in a clean environment will not hurt your TV at all, even for long periods. It's harsh environmental conditions which will harm it.

There is a company which delivers a small storage container to your home, you fill the container with your stuff at your leisure then when you are ready to move to your new place they move it for you or if you are not ready to move it then they take it to a storage facility. How does dry boat storage work? Is it only for long periods of time?

What does dry boat storage entail? Can you get your boat in and out of storage on a regular basis, or is it only for storage over long periods of time?

Dry storage in Minnesota can mean two things: 1. Winterized boats, inside barns, long periods of time 2. Boats that are removed from the water on a daily basis and put in a rack system on dry land, thus saving marina space. You call a number of hours ahead of time and your boat is waiting at the dock for you when you arrive. This can work very well, if you give them plenty of notice. And, the marina likes to work with it's customers this way. Trouble comes on holiday weekends when the forklift is amazingly busy, and boat owners want their boat on a moment's notice.

Will my clothes be safe in space bags stored in a storage unit?

I have a small storage unit. It is not climate controlled. I have two large space bags with clothing inside. Is it safe to store the clothing in the space bags in a storage unit? I do not live in a humid part of the country but it still concerns me. Any storage unit advice you can give would be appreciated. My items will be in the unit 8 to 12 months. Thank You. Well it's not the most ideal place to store clothes, but if that's the only place you have your hands are tied. There are a couple of things that you need to do. 1. Get some cedar moth balls to put in the storage unit, this will repel bugs and moths. 2. Make sure that your stuff is off the floor, you may want to set it up on wood blocks, or maybe a use a wooden palate. this will prevent moisture damage.

Use optical media, it is just as reliable, and much cheaper. A USB flash drive (or any solid state memory), is good for shorter term storage or portability. If you really care about your photos or other collectible files, you may want to consider the 3-2-1 backup program: You keep at least 3 copies, at least on 2 different media types, and keep 1 copy off site.
