How much would a squash court cost?

I asked about 20 people in my highschool if they would pay about $10 each for a few squash courts in the school and they all said yes. I was planning to set up a fund-raiser but how much would a squash court be along with equipment?

Question answered by caтy

I love squash :) I actually have a squash court in my house! Approximate court with glass back $35,000 (ie. walls $18000; glass $8500; floors $8500). If building from scratch, court housing (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Insulation) and court totals are more like $125,000 for a singles court and $160,000 for a doubles court – additional courts are cheaper as the court housing will already have been constructed. Space requirements 40’ x 30’ x 20-25’ (ceiling) If I were you, I'd build a tennis court (between $4,000-$10,000) and get multi-purpose backboards that go up around the perimeter instead of a fence. You won't have a squash court, but you should still be able to practice straights, volleys, drops, serves, etc... You just won't be able to play an actual squash match, or practice lobs as the dimensions of the "court" will be different. Good luck and enjoy :] -Catherine

What are squash court walls made of?

I noticed today that squash balls bounce much better off squash court walls as opposed to every day house or building walls. Can anyone tell me how they're built or what they're made of?

Question answered by Sarah

Any construction company would be able to build a squash court. I had one built at my beach house when I was younger, although the construction company wasn't based in the UK. Go to a few different local construction company and get a quote from each of them to see where the price point will be. Approximate court with glass back $35,000 (ie. walls $18000; glass $8500; floors $8500). If you plan on building it from scratch, court housing (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Insulation) and court totals are more like $125,000 for a singles court and $160,000 for a doubles court, but additional courts are cheaper because the court housing will already have been constructed. The space requirements are 40’ x 30’ x 20-25’ (ceiling)

What is the difference between Racquetball and Squash?

I play a lot of racquetball but I recently found out about Squash. From watching it, it seems to be basically the same as racquetball but with different rackets and I don't think the Squash court has a ceiling. The two look very similar. Is this the case in terms of rules and how the game is scored etc. Could Squash be played on a racketball court?

b long

Question answered by Questiionns

It could be played on the same court but the lines are different for playing real games. They rackets in both sports are different and so are the balls. Squash is a lot harder so younger people because you have to move really fast or the ball with stop. Racketball is alot easier, it is played with a bigger ball therefore easier to hit and it bounces higher/longer/faster! Good Luck :)

Any ideas for certain kind of rooms in an magical boarding school?

So i was wondering if anyone could help me with a few ideas for rooms in a large "Oxford" styled place for Demigods. Rooms such as really normal rooms from Squash courts, Indoor swimming pools, music halls. (Anything like old English boarding schools would be great from rooms to trivia.) And also, rooms that aren't so normal. Magical rooms for a purpose would be great to help come up with. I know, usually that's my part.

Colm

Question answered by Caleb

if they were demigods, it would have some type of medieval theme, statues, weapons, large pools, harps stuff like that
