Since you're just a high school baseball team player, you may not need to buy a big brand bats. That cost a lot. My advice is: choose one that fit for a learner level. You don't need a famous brand, instead, choose the cheaper one.Log on these website to compare their prices and sizes, material. You can always find a great deal.
What type of road bike should I purchase?
I'm looking at purchasing a bicycle for use in commuting to work and school.
Would it be optimal to buy a cheaper bike (ie: one from Target, Sporting Goods shops, etc) or spend a little more on a better brand at a bike shop (ie: Specialized, Giant, Raleigh)? My max range is about $300-350, so if I did get a better brand, it would have to be an entry level bike.

Department store bikes carry a lot of hidden costs and inconveniences. At these stores, you pay less for an inferior bike that will probably be poorly built and assembled by an untrained store employee without the right tools to do a good job. There is no after sales service other than being able to return or exchange your bike for another similar one. The store will not carry parts for your bike, so if something other than tires wears out, you may not be able to replace the worn part. Adjustments after the break in period are also not part of the purchase. Think about your bike as a long term investment, a good one will last many trouble free years. Buy a cheap one, and you may be out bike shopping again next year if you haven't become discouraged with cycling riding a heavy sluggish bike.

Peter J says his cost him $19.00, and in Indiana a regular fishing license is now $17.00, but I can remember a time, not so long ago, that a sport fishing license cost only $3.25, and "all of the money" went to back into stocking the lakes, and repairing the park system's roads & campgrounds. This was before the time of the GREEDY POLITICIAN'S, placing a burden of despair, and spreading hopelessness, upon everything they touch, or spout profuse lies, and profanities, about any subject that happens to find itself crossing their putrid desks.
But, yeah, you're allowed to start using your license right away, once it is issued, providing that you don't owe any child support, (which you must sign another form declaring that you don't.).

How come fishing reels come in different sizes???
I was at a sporting goods shop today and noticed that there were fishing reels that were different sizes. Some were attached to Ugly Stiks and were a lot smaller than the Shimano ones. Does the size of the fishing reel affect the size of the fish you catch???

Question answered by A-Bomb
The only reason fishing reels come in those different sizes is because they are each, so to speak, weight classes. The smallest of the reels is designed for light class lines (2,4,6 lb) the next size up will most likely 8,10,12 lb, next size up, 12,15,20, so on, and so forth. Next time you look at those reels, look closely at the spools, they will have numbers. For example: I'm looking at one of my rods, and the numbers are; 2/195 4/125 6/65 Which represents the recommended line sizes, and an approx. of how much you can put on the spool. For 6 lb test, it says It would only be able to safely accomodate up to 65 yards of that line(since 6 lb test has a larger diameter than say, 4 lb test). Which will help you decide exactly how much line you will need to buy. And since lines come in vast amount of length spools to buy, you wouldnt need 300 yards of line (unless you like to respool quite often) when 150 yards will be sufficient. And I recommend keeping extra line handy in case your line snaps when you have alot of line out. Or you get a nasty bird nest, you can quickly change the line, and get back to fishing.
And the size gear to size fish ratio...no such thing. Living in the middle of florida where I know the only thing I will catch when I got fishing in a lake around here, is a bass. I will use light gear. like a 4-8lb outfit. I've actually caught a 5lb bass on 4lb test. Just remember to adjust your drag accordingly, (25% of the breaking strength of the line). So keep in mind what your fishing for, and how big they get, and prepare accordingly. And use common knowledge; if your going grouper fishing, your not going to want to use 10lb test. for obvious reasons. And theres no telling how big of fish your going to catch, they dont line up and let you pick them out to catch, unfortuantely, it doesnt work that way.
Where is all the good stuff in Tampa?
Just moved to Tampa for my wifes work and so far I think it kind of sucks... Are there any pool halls here that are real pool halls and not bars with pool tables in them.. How about sporting good shops. All I see is one Dicks about 30 min away and a Sports Authority. You would think they would have a full on fishing supply store like the Fishermans Warehouse or something like that but so far nothing good found.

Can I use a street hockey stick for ice hockey?
Hi, I have a hockey camp coming in a few hours and I was wondering if I can use my street/roller hockey stick for Ice hockey. Its a Koho Revolution-the one you find at the local sporting goods shop. Its the only one I have because I moved from New Jersey to Florida and the sticks here are at least 100$

Haven't you ask this question before? You got pretty good answers already, I would only add that to make sure you should contact the rink, because some hockey leagues have their rules concerning the equipment and it could apply to hockey camp as well.
