How has the influence of sports or ways they are played changed in the past few generations in India?
Sports like cricket, or the ways sports are played. How would they be different now compared to the ways their grandparents played them? Thanks.

What sports can someone in the late 20s get good at?
And non-athletic sports like curling, ping pong, darts, and shuffleboard do not count.
I don't care Daniel.
Actually marathoners tend to peak in their early 30s, but I don't want that really thin runners build. People have to give up alot of speed and strength muscles for endurance muscles.

Question answered by Antst
Well, it depends on what you mean by "good." Do you want to compete at the Olympics or on a more local level? Or do you just want to have fun?
I have noticed that many rowers / canoeists / kayakers are older. So are many cyclists.
There are soccer, rugby, baseball, and basketball stars who are older than you, but these sports probably require learning moves at a younger age. So I would stick to speed sports that don't put a lot of stress on joints. Although I have heard that even marathon-runners, whose bodies tend to wear out pretty fast, are competing at ever-older ages.
Good luck.
How do sports drinks give you more energy than good old H2O?
Science homework. Researching sports drinks Useful/not useful, how they work, pros + cons?

Question answered by word
Water doesn't have anything other than H2O... sports drinks have added substances.... However, sports drinks don't really give you energy, they have electrolytes, which is claimed to hydrate you better, which is the purpose of sports drinks, but they make my mouth feel dry and more thirsty...
What are the best sports editing software which is free download?
What are the best sports editing software which is free download? I am looking for the best editing software to edit hd sports videos. I am looking to make a sports video, Please can you answer my question quickly as I am looking to edit HD quality sports video.
Erik
Question answered by brisray
I wondered what your question was about. Sports editing - what is that? You use the same editors you use for any other type of video...
Take a look at the tutorials for Windows Movie Maker at http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/ - it may be WMM is all you need. It really is foolproof except that it's picky in what file formats it takes and the lack of native support for multiple video and audio tracks are a definite disadvantage (but there are workarounds).
The version 2 series were probably the most versatile, you can find them here - http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/windows-movie-maker.html - but you'll have problems installing the older versions on Windows 7. Windows Live Movie Maker is still good, but not so versatile.
Other free video editors are...
Wax - http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ - this is also a compositor - a bit like Adobe's After Effects - - unlimited video and audio tracks
VideoLAN Movie Creator - http://videolan.org/vlmc/ - up to 64 audio and video tracks
TrakAxPC - www.trakax.com/software/pc/
VideoSpin - http://videospin.com/ - just 1 video track so you may as well use WMM
VideoPad - the free version - http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/
Lightworks - http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ - I like this one - unlimited tracks ?
Serif MoviePlus - http://serif.com/free-video-editing-software/ - unlimited tracks ?
Ezvid - ezvid.com/ - 32 video and audio tracks
Another is Zwei-Stein. This is a good editor but I found the interface to be absolutely horrible.
VirtualDub, RAD Video tools, AVITricks and Avidemux are also good tools you should look at. Although not full editors like the others they have some useful features.
Lightworks and Wax together are a very good video editing system for free.
All are safe, at least from the sites I've linked to.
If you want to spend some money then there are reviews of 14 video editors under $100 at http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
More costly are video editors like Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere. Both of which are very good. Premiere is probably more advanced but harder to learn everything it can do.
How many sports players are actually smart in others things besides their sport?

The Klitschko brothers in boxing both have a PhD in sports science. Although the concentration is sports-related, the fact that both were/are good boxers and have doctorates is quite interesting.
How important are sports for a college application?
I play no sports, but I am in a lot of community service.
geebussss
Question answered by Dmitry
don't worry, you'll get in without sports
really it all depends on the school you're applying to, for ivy league schools it matters a lot if somebody in your family went there or what high school you're from (private expensive is favored)
if you're completely average academically, you can easily get into just about any state school regardless of sport involvement, just apply wide to multiple schools. it helps to have anything that makes you stand out from the crowd, but there will already be a crowd of people involved in sports
bottom line: college apps are very sporadicand show the bankrupcy of current standardized tests; you can do everything right and not get in. write good essays and secure good recommendation letters, that'll weigh in far more than sports involvement
What race dominates more sports, considering every single professional and Olympic sport?
We often hear from other homies or liberals that we dominate sports (African Americans) , but guys i had a long conversation last night which opened my eyes . Other than basketball, some positions in American football and some running events , what other sports do we dominate massively? There are so many sports, hundreds probably, how did this propaganda started? Aren't whites a minority worldwide, so how do they dominate all these sports and none talks about it?
Roy Batty
Question answered by
A good 80% of sports worldwide are white dominated and Olympics is the proof, so the whole black domination sports thing it can't be nothing more than a joke or stereotype!

I hope this helps.
How important are sports on a college resume?
How important are extracurricular activities and playing sports to getting into college? I was told that if you don't play a sport in high school, then you don't have much of a chance to getting into college.
Scott
Question answered by darkgodzeus
You were told falsly. EXTRA CIRRICULARS are important on a college resume, sports are only one type of an extra cirricular. Without extra cirriculars, unless you are the smartest kid in your class of X in the United states...your application is much weaker. Admission deans LOVE kids who are involved outside of school.
Sports, volunteering, plays, boyscouts, school newspaper, clubs....only a few examples of extra cirriculars. You don't need to play sports as I said before, those are only one kind of extra cirriculars.
What is the difference between sky sports 1 and 2 for the world cup cricket?
I want to watch the world cup cricket on sky sports. What is the difference between sky sports 1 and 2? I am asking as it is obviously more expensive to get both.
Should I get both if I don't want to miss a match or is everything going to be broadcast on sky sports 1. Does sky sports 1 normally carry the more important live event and 2 is used for the secondary sport? Like if there is golf and cricket on at the same time. All sounds to me as if sky did this to make more money out of sport deprived souls stuck on Freeview or Freesat.

Question answered by Saboo
Most of the Cricket World Cup matches are on Sky Sports 1, however if there is live Premier League football or another big match then the cricket does get moved to Sky Sports 2. Also when there are two matches on the same day which overlap the lesser match can be followed using the red button service.
