Need help finding a company or supplier?

What is the best large internationl flatrate shipping option ?

Moving back to India in a few months. I live in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX USA. I have a lot of collectable books and other heavy items I want to ship off before I leave. I have checked USPS, UPS, FEDex, and DHL. they all cost arm and a leg and then some more. The cheapest is USPS and its still $300 and only covers half of what i need to ship. about 40 pounds. Google is no help either. It keeps showing the USPS, FedEx. I know some of my philippinese friends ship off large boxes for a flat $100 rate. but they only ship to Philippines or vietnam. There must be some that ship to India I m sure. If someone could help me out, that would be awesome. Thanks,

Mihir Thakar

Question answered by Lisa M

If you need to ship all of your belongings including furniture, you'll need to use international moving company. If it is only boxes, there are some international shipping companies that will do small freight also (not only containers). I have attached a link to a couple, you might try calling to check their rates. Good luck.

How long does it take for a parcel to ship from Ontario Canada to Prince George Canada?

A friend is sending me a large parcel from Ontario. I live in Prince George. She is sending it for my birthday which is on the 16th. She thinks it will take about 8 days to get here, but she is not quite sure and she is really wanting to know if it will get here in time or not. She shipped the parcel today. Thanks!

Question answered by Karen L

You didn't say how she is shipping it. Post office? Greyhound bus? A courier like Fedex? The best way to get a good idea of how long a parcel will take is to ask the company you ship it with at the time you give it to them. How fast it gets there depends on what shipping method you choose and pay for, and we don't know what your friend did in that regard. If she said it was going to be 8 days, then I would guess that that is what she was told by the shipper. How would anyone here know any different, especially lacking the details of how it was shipped? Some methods of shipping have guaranteed delivery times, some don't.

what is a good company that will pick-up shipments and deliver?

im buying some computers from ebay (10 towers) and its local pick-up only. its so cheep for them if its worth it i will pay for a shipping service to pick them up. preferably pack them to.

Gabriel Lunday

Question answered by deco

The seller has it listed as Local Pickup because he doesn't want to mess with packing and shipping and wants his cash in hand when he delivers. I suggest you email the seller BEFORE you even think of buying. He has the right to refuse your purchase as you are going against the intent of his listing.

Is it legal to charge a customer's card without prior notification other than the purcahse order agreement?

I work for a fashion brand manufacturing womens apparel based out of California. Most of our customers are small boutiques that use credit cards as their mode of payment. In the old days when my company was new, we were able to call all our accounts to get "approval to ship". Now, the company has grown so much that we are unable to call everyone. Instead, at the bottom of our purchase orders we say: we will notify you 48 hours prior to processing this order via e-mail. In our e-mails we also say if we do not receive any objection from you within 48 hours we will go ahead and process according to your agreed terms on order (which is credit card). A customer has threatened to take legal action stating that it is illegal to just charge the card. We sent her an e-mail to notify her and did not receive an objection so we went ahead and processed (charged her card). Your answers will be greatly appreciated. Serious answers only. Thank you in advance.

Question answered by SamTheHungry

Your purchase order is the agreement to pay. If they provided you with credit card info to set up their payment, they are responsible for the charges. All you have to do is prove you fulfilled the terms of the purchase order.

What's a reliable website that sells cheap sports jerseys and can you pay via Paypal?

I use to use http://www.wcheapsale.org/ but it no longer allows me to pay with PayPal so I don't trust them. What are other websites that are good?

Question answered by Buffy Staffordshire

100% scam. That is a fake website pretending to sell cheap merchandise. Any site that advertises merchandise cheaper than the official manufacture's website is a fake site shipping gosh awful crappy knock-offs or simply collecting cash and not even bothering to ship fakes. The pictures on the site look like the real merchandise because those pictures ARE of the official merchandise. Those pictures were stolen from the official manufacture's website. If you receive anything at all, which is doubtful, it will not resemble those pretty pictures at all. The payment options say it all, Western Union and moneygram. The credit card icons are just there for show, that site does not accept credit cards, only anonymous cash payments. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever. In all seriousness, when something goes wrong, what will you do? Send an email that is ignored and blocked? Send chat requests until you are ip banned? Call internationally and speak fluent Chinese? The UPS, TNT and DHL icons are there only to take up space, that site only ships with EMS, the Chinese post office, good luck getting the "tracking number" they give you to work on the EMS website. You will need even more luck trying to contact EMS when your tracking stops and your "package" is lost somewhere. You could then be really lucky, your "package" is discovered, seized by "customs" and all you need to do is pay even more money via Western Union or moneygram to the "custom's official" who uses a free email address just like that site has a free email address as its contact information. Free email addresses are easy to open and close completely anonymously.

Why are computers with Alienware so expensive ?

I need a good computer with good stuff but alienware is so expensive and I need a good laptop for gaming any suggestions?

Remember Me

Question answered by Brian

Alienware is a brandname company, so if they charge excessive amounts of money, people will still buy their computers. However, you also have to keep in mind that they have to pay for their workers, shipping costs, insurance, etc. It doesn't justify their pricetag, but it somewhat explains it. If you want to get a cheap desktop that's powerful, build it yourself. I put together a rig for $1080 that would've costed $2000 from Alienware. If you want to get a good gaming laptop, I suggest you check out Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=32&name=Laptops-Notebooks#)

Question answered by Sur La Mer

My advice is to meet them in person. I also suggest when paying for online purchases, don't use Paypal, it takes just once to be a victim. I was and it took 3 years to get my credit. Use your Credit Card, always, they can help you if any disputes. Example from YA!: "On the 10th of November we returned a watch I had bought for my husband, it was supposed to be an automatic but when it was taken off stopped after a short while. I phoned to tell then and they said to return it for a refund, I know it reached them on the 11th November as I tacked it by the post office. the promised refund has yet to come after several email all ignored and a few phone calls now all I can do is contact the credit card company. so customers beware". AND beware of international shipping, they could add 3-25% extra fees, even if the price is cheap. My merchant was from Texas, but the product was shipped from Hong Kong. Other times, when you need to call Customer Service, they speak in foreign tongue and no one to translate them or JUST they don't answer calls. I'm a vendor, I tried ordering from one wholesaler once, but I heard it could take several weeks, even to a month to get your orders.

Is it safe to send Western Union to 23401?

I'm going to send by Western Union to an individual, $100, to Lagos, Nigeria 23401. Is this a safe way to send money I was going to buy a puppy but was very skeptical, the breeder was supposedly in the US, but the money was to be sent to lagos, Nigeria. After doing some internet research of my own, I became very leery of this transaction. So I didn't fall prey to this scam. Hope this helps someone else. Question answered by Buffy Staffordshire

100% scam. NO, Western Union is NOT a safe way to send money to anyone, especially a scammer who is lying to you. There is no bridge building in Nigeria, no gold miner in Ghana, no charity worker in South Africa, no highly educated widower with one young daughter and no project. His parents are not dead, he is not single, he is not from the US, he did not move overseas when a parent died and everything you have been told is a complete lie, with one goal, to steal your money and emotions. All anyone needs to send money is: 1) A first and last name to use on the form as the sender's name 2) A first and last name to use on the form as the receiver's name 3) Money All anyone needs to pick up the cash is: 1) The first and last name used on the form as the sender's name 2) The first and last name used on the form as the receiver's name 3) The eight or ten digit money transfer control number (MTCN#) 4) The test question and answer And, all too frequently, only one or 2 of above listed requirements are actually needed to pick up the cash and disappear. That is it, no ID required. If you are: 1) sending money as part of a work-at-home job 2) buying from craigslist/kijiji/gumtree/forum/website 3) buying a pet or car/truck/trailer/motorhome/caravan 4) helping an online boy/girlfriend or refugee 5) paying taxes/fees on a loan/lottery/draw/government grant 6) paying visa/bank/airline/travel fees 7) paying deposit/rent for an apartment/house/condo 8) paying banker/barrister/lawyer/court fees 9) paying a transportation/courier/shipping company 10) receiving/forwarding money onto someone or some company Then you are being scammed. Just keep in mind that Western Union and moneygram are unsafe and unsecure ways to send money. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off the cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. If you google "Western Union scam", "fraud moneygram scammer" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims who lost money via Western Union and moneygram.

Why did they charge me more than the listed price?

I was buying a Dora the Explorer blanket for 4.99 (Steal!) and then they took ONE more penny then they needed, What is this?! They ripped me off. Seriously, does this happen to everyone, or is this some kinda local thing?

Spiced

Question answered by A Hunch

it happens sometimes and yeah, it's scammy... I was working with a large company on a project. The cost was $799 a month (yes, seven hundred ninety-nine dollars) and they would bill $800... I complained enough and they finally refunded my $1 for the months they overcharged and I cancelled the project. You need to see what the shipping cost is on your $4.99 blanket. It might not be the steal that you think.
