What security precautions are put into place in a place guarding nuclear weapons?
Security features or maybe the manpower available guarding it? What's stopping terrorists from stealing it?
hongyeus
Question answered by Hayley
A lot..obviously, telling you what they are would be a breach of security and would allow the terrorists to know what to expect and allow them to figure out how to circumvent those security measures...
But security/accountability CAN break down...anyone remember the live nuke that was loaded onto the B-52 without authorization a few years ago? Flew over much of the US...I remember a lot of heads rolled when that happened...
Is security guard work boring and underpaid?
What do security officers do, are they underpaid, is it boring and what kit do they have?

Question answered by GA
Yes, and no. Private security includes (but is not limited to) guarding gates, screening passengers and cargo, store detectives, bodyguards, loss prevention, and building/lobby security. You can make it as boring as you want to, but then your pay is usually comensurate with you performance. Highly skilled, performers can draw about twice the local minimum wage in any given area for unarmed security work.
Armed security requires more time for continuing education training, greater skills, and as such demands more money. These armed jobs typically include guarding government facilities, patrol, alarm response, and high-profile/high risk security assignments. These assignments tend to be less common, but the pay usually provides an increase of about 50 percent over unarmed security.
If by "kit" you mean gear, then that can range from a pen and paper to full duty belts similar to police.
How does Social Security Disability or Social Security Insurance Fraud cases work?
I have been on Social Security for many years and have on occasion received certification letters in the mail. I am now being sent the same paperwork, should there be concern for this? I am afraid of losing my benefits as my husband is currently unemployed and we are barely making it on my small disability benefits. Thanks for your help.
Question answered by
Hello there I have worked with the Office of Social Security for over 25 years. Hopefully I will be able to provide some answers that may be of help to you. If you are concerned about someone tipping you off as a possible fraud case you need to first stop and ask yourself why somebody would do that. Are you adhering to the rules and regulations of Social Security Disability or Insurance benefits? Here is some information you should make yourself familiar and aware of:
Certification letters get sent out to individuals every 1 to 3 years depending on their physical or mental disability. If you have already filled one out this year or within the last 2 years and received a statement of continued benefits with award dollar amount and you are being investigated again this is due to information the Social Security Office has received that shows you are no longer disabled, or are doing things that you have on paper you cannot perform due to your disability. This can come from field officers observing you not being "disabled" or from fraud tip offs that are annomonusly given to one of our many offices or toll free numbers,
Certification and redetermination of elgibility will always come on social Security White or manila colored envelopes that are addressed with typed mailing addresses displaying your name and the Social Seucurity Federal Government Logo and licensing information.
Any letters talking about reviwing your case and assigned to a Manager or Distric field officer is a definite sign of a fraud tip off report or field officer observation. These letters typically come in Handwritten envelopes with a caseworker and case number on the envelope the number typically corespondes to the fraud tip off file number.
If you have nothing to worry about you should be fine. Keep in mind other sure tell signs of this being a fraud investigation is if you are asked to certify any other federal, state, or local aid. As doing them all together at the same time NEVER happens unless it is a fraud case.

Information Security is a pretty big topic.
In any system the threat to information is greater from within. The amount anyone goes to protect information is based on their budget because there is almost no end. So you measure what your information is worth to others and protect it within your budget.
Encryption employs mathematical algorithms to scramble the information. A system may use private keys and public keys...a good example is a preshared key.
Your home wireless network is a good example, people will employ WEP encryption so their neighbor cannot get into their system. In the router you enter a plain language word to be scrambled into a key, if you put in "golf" you get 2G5KCR83JCRU, this has to be entered into the wireless units for them to access the network. The router generates the key, but it has to be manually shared.
I hope that helps
How important is private security in your?
Private security has not only become more
prominent in our society in the last few years, but also more important. In what areas of your community has private security become more prominent? This could be at an
airport, place of business, or where you live. How important is private security in your
community? How effective is private security? What more could be or should be done?

It is a joke. I have to go into the water treatment facility for a large city. Most of the time I have to wake the security guard up. Most of the private security around the country is laughable it only works on people willing to follow the law terrorist don't. I don't believe the whole terrorist threat anyway. I am more concerned with domestic terrorist and thugs. "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

Can you give me a reference to support your answer or a description of your qualifications to answer it. I don't just want an opinion. Thanks.

Question answered by ssadviceonline
No! Social Security would not reduce your check. You would just not receive a cost of living increase and I have never seen that happen. Here are the COLAs back 2000 to present:
Year COLA
2000 3.5
2001 2.6
2002 1.4
2003 2.1
2004 2.7
2005 4.1
2006 3.3
2007 2.3
2008 5.8
How does a security deposit at an apartment work?
Do you either get the security deposit when you move out or not, or is it possible for you to owe more in addition to them keeping the security deposit? Thanks!
girl
Question answered by Uncle Pennybags
A security deposit is used to cover unpaid rent, damages or cleaning of the apartment.
If you paid all rent, leave the place undamaged and clean, you should receive the entire amount back. If not, the landlord will deduct those charges from your deposit, and return anything left over. And yes, you are on the hook for any charges beyond your security deposit if you left without paying rent or left the place in bad shape.
If you happen to be looking for a new place, do yourself a BIG FAVOR and do a thorough walkthru inspection with the landlord, writing down the condition of everything. Note whether it's new or worn carpet, new or worn drapes, if the tile is chipped, etc. Do yourself an even bigger favor and take a bunch of before photos and burn them to a CD. Keep this with the copy of the inspection.
Then when you leave, you do the exact same thing with the landlord present. That way there can be no issues of he said / she said when it comes to the condition of the place.
How information security varies from network security ? Which would be a better option for ms in usa?
I am planning for doing masters in usa , i wanted go for security studies . Finally concluded with information security and network security which would be a better option? What is information security and what is network security? Why this is better?

Question answered by Karen B
Information security is the literal management of the information. Where you have it stored, what kind of software is it stored in, how is it searchable, and who has access to it. Many people in this field spend time looking for holes in existing software applications, or designing new software that cannot be penetrated.
Network security and Internetworking security is actually securing the network or Wide Area Network from malicious intruders, viruses, spam, etc.
