Need help finding a company or supplier?

Who supplies Lochmere cashmiere sweaters for Scottish suvenier shops in Glasgow and Edinburgh?

I wonder how to find out the exact details of the supplier of cashmiere sweaters which only have the label "Lochmere cashmere". I pruchased two of these one in a Glasgow Scottish suverneir shop and one in an Edinburgh Mills Shop and both turned out to be very sub-standard quality.

eva

Question answered by Pace stick and proud of it!

Write to the shops or complain to trading standards. I doubt if the shops in question would supply the details you request. Although i am surprised if Edinburgh mills sells substandard stock! So what do you think was wrong?

How much would it cost to have this truck repainted?

My dad is giving me his Chevy s10, 1999, zr-2, and it's in rough shape. I plan on fixing all the dents and stuff myself, but I want to have it completely repainted after. It's the bright red,and I want it repainted to that nice Chevy blue. How much would this cost at your run-of the mill body shop?

David Downing

Question answered by Please punctuate properly, folks

Some people say, and I'm in sympathy, that a pick-up should NOT be pristine, that it SHOULD carry a few dents and dings, and that they validate it as a good honest working truck - not a show-princess!

Does anyone have any tips for parking at Gurnee Mills Shopping Mall?

This is regarding the Mall in Gurnee, IL. I know that the mall is poorly designed as it is a Z shape. If you park at one end & walk to the other, the only way back is to walk back the same way you came which ends up being like 4 miles of walking. If anyone has any tips or strategies, I would greatly appreciate it. (I.E. park in middle, or park & shop for a minute then go back to car & repark, etc). Thanks!

Meghan

Question answered by mccoyblues

Find an empty space, park in it. enjoy the walk. That would be my strategy.

Could metal chips with coolant combust on their own?

I have a mill in the shop that spits metal chips into a container after the part has been machined. There is coolant in the process therefore the chips are cold as they come out. These chips are pilling up in this container, and the longer they stay there, they are starting to smoke. They are gettting hot also. Could they be auto combusting?

Vitao

Question answered by Gary

No is the simple answer coolent will only hit 130--140 degrees c at most there know chance of metal combustion at this temp.. More importantly try to find where these filings are coming from..

How well does the Alaskan chainsaw mill work ?

So i would like to get in to milling my own lumber for projects. And a friend told me a bought the Alaskan chainsaw mill that bolts to the bar of your saw, And i would like to know how well it works before i buy one. The saw i will be running is a stihl MS 441 with a 28'' bar.

Clay K

Question answered by roger

I have one. Alaskan MK III. works well. It is slow and makes a lot of dust. You need to keep the chain sharp. A rip chain is better but a regular chain works. (I had two rip chains for mine but the shop sharpened them like regular chains and now i cannot resharpen them for ripping :-( ) I had trouble clamping the sawmill to the bar and had to use some washers to keep the bar from pinching the chain pulley at the end of the bar. Overall they work well.

Where is good to go shopping near the Midlands?

I am planning on going shopping but dont want to travel too far away from the Midlands. Was thinking Bath or somewhere but does anyone know any good places to go that is max about 90mins drive from Birmingham?

Jinx

Question answered by Veronica Alicia

What can't you get at Merry Hill? Or were you looking for something specific? Or just a day out? Bath is terrible for parking, use the Park and Ride which is well worth it to avoid the hassle. Bristol has good shopping around Broadmead. Have you thought of just taking a trip over to Kidderminster? The Range is a good venue (on the Crossley Estate behind Sainsburys) for everything. The Estate also has the usual Comet, Bedland, Maplin, etc. Then walk through the underpass to Matalan and a bit further on to M & S. The Mill Shop, TKMaxx, etc. In the main Town centre - most other shops you'd expect to find in a Town - Wilkinsons, cafes, pubs. Or, going in the other direction, Shrewsbury is a lovely City - again use the park and ride - everything you could want there. Lichfield - park by Tesco & Focus for 2 hours or Aldi the same. If you like beads - there is a fabulous bead shop - interesting market on Fridays and Saturdays, beautiful Cathedral.

Do you think that pet shops should be inspected impromptu on the animals health?

I REALLY do. I once saw a pet shop where there were 2 dead mice, one a skelaten, one mostly meat, and the other mice were eating each other and they had no food or water. ALso pet shops are getting way too careless.

I think they should also be held accountably for any illnesses that dogs and cats get. Puppy mills are rampant and coming from a family of dog breeders I know there is no money to be made in breeding. People who are profiting are cutting corners and it is usually in the quailty of life for their animals.

What kind of Machines are needed in a fully functionable Metal Shop?

I am looking to open a Metal/Machine Shop for weapons manufacturing and want to ensure that I have all the tools and Machines required. I could use some basic lists to compare mine to. I would prefer owners of shops or people who have experience in shops, not kids looking stuff up on Google. Thanks!

Matthew

Question answered by Andy

No offense but your putting the cart before the horse.Quality machine tools(and the related tooling) cost thousands of dollars. You need to learn how to use them before you go buy them. And honestly if you already knew how to use them you would know what you needed. At the very least you would need a lathe,a milling machine, drill press, plasma cutter,a precision metal cutting machine,a high quality welder, grinders and buffers, etc. For manufacturing a water jet cutter would be a needed tool also.Just for the basic tools you could easily spend 250,000 for quality equipment.

What does a puppy mill mean from the pet shop?

Thanks for helping...Can you please tell me what a puppy mill is ? Also, I noticed there are a LOT of beagels and cocker spaniels for adoption..is tehre a reason why? Is it better to go directly to a breeders and not the pet stores? Thanks so much!! Oh no!!! How can this be allowed, thats so sad.....I will not even consider the pet stores anymore. I had no idea...how can these places get closed down?

Question answered by H.O.T. Dog

Negative things that could happen from Puppy Mills. Litters get mixed up so you are not getting the dog you think you are buying. Puppy mills sell to places like Pet Land - and get high prices for the dogs Puppy mills have guarentees that have loop holes in them - Doing business with a reputable breeder you will get a fair market price - guarentees that they stand behind - no worry about disease - Can see the parents (or at least one) on site. People in pet stores only know the bare minumum about the dogs... ask how many dogs they have titled or brought to champions... the majority are a joke. Well, I could go on and on but check out some of the sites others have given you and go from there. Good Luck sew

What do you think about puppies being sold in pet shops?

Do you think that they ALL come from backyard breeders? Or are a few from people whose female, un-spayed dog accidentally bred with another along a walk? Or are some pet shops linked with breeders who actually care about the puppies and hands them to the pet shop to sell? And why are pet shops allowed to sell puppies anyway? They don't really get enough attention and socialization and some take ages to be bought and that would mean staying in its kennel for a while on its own if its siblings have been sold already.

Question answered by petstore sell puppymill pets

99% are from Puppy mills 1% are from backyard breeder/Accidental Litters. No way to tell the difference unfortuantly Petshop are linked to Puppy mills-Licenced breeders-that do NOT care. All they care if making money and cutting all costs associated. So these licenced breeder do not vacinated, do not vet check, do not deworm, no socialisation, and even the pup and parents are 1/2 starved to keep cost down. The parents are bred EVERY possible heatcycle. Petshops will pretty much sell to anyone who comes through the door as long as they have the money. That why so many petshop pup die with Parvo and numerous other diseases. Good breeder do not sell to petshop because they want to know there pup is going to a good home, and want the potential owners to see the ideal living conditions. Yes puppy mill do occur in Australia. There was an episode on RSPCA animal rescue last tuesday of a puppy mill in Newcastle NSW. Unfortuantly the RSPCA raided the place and continue to let the miller breed and only remove a few of the dogs. I was quite surprised they actually allowed her to continue to breed and keep most of her dogs and she had over 100. However not all puppy mill in australia fit the cage profile with have what we call open mill, still have 1000 of dogs and still uncared for.
