What wire is the remote for a factory 1999 Mazda protege stereo?
Im trying to hook up an amp but I dont see a remote wire on the wiring diagram of my car. Is there something else I can use as the remote or what color is the remote wire?

Question answered by Jeff B
Usually it is labelled something like "power antenna" (which might turn off your amp when not using the am/fm...) and also "aux" or "lights"
You're just looking for a 12 volt positive that turns on when the radio is on, and turns off when the radio is off.
Make sure your rem wire is fused with 1 amp max to protect your head unit.
If you have an electrical tester that reads low voltage, you can pull the radio, still hooked up, turn it on, and test which wires are "hot" and then turn off the radio and see which turn off.
There's usually at least 2 wires that perform this function. Sometimes they're orange, yellow, or blue and usually they have a stripe and/or a tag when a new harness adapter is used for an after factory stereo.
Just make sure the amp turns off when your radio is off or you'll kill the battery.
Where can i find a representation of teh wire colors for my 2000 impala?
I'm installing a radio in my 2000 impala and the colors of the wires coming from the dash arn't labeled nor do they represent the colors coming from my radio to match them, I need a list of what each color is coming from my dash.

Look at the inside of your trunk. If there's an amp mounted to the ceiling, than you're going to have to run wires to the trunk and an accessory wire. If not, than you'll only have to run an accessory wire. Your car doesn't have an accessory wire for the radio, so you'll have to tag it at the ignition harness. Email for more info. The wire colors behind the deck are irrelivant for this car, because you're going to have to run your own. All you can use behind the deck is the constant power, ground, and antenna (with an adapter). Everything else needs to be rewired. Hope this helps.
What determines the amount of energy an appliance like a refrigerator, consume? Is it the Wattage?
I am buying a small refrigerator (4 cu ft) with a freezer and I can't seem to find a an energy compliant refrigerator this small. I want to know how much it will cost to run a refrigerator this small for one year. Can anyone help?

Question answered by JJCake
Yes, wattage.
I guess those tiny fridges are exempt from the usual energy tags that major appliances are required to have. It's difficult to know which fridge would consume the least energy without actually testing it in real world circumstances, but on the back of every appliance there is a little label (often near the power cord) that says something like this: 120 volts AC 60hz 2 amps. It's that last number that shows what the appliance's peak power consumption is. Therefore, a 2 amps appliance uses less power than a 2.5 amp appliance.
To confuse matters, though, this doesn't mean the appliance is always drawing that much energy. And also sometimes the power consumption is listed as watts. But to compare watts to amps, do this equation: amps times voltage = watts. Therefore 1 amp times 120 volts equals 120 watts.
Hope this helps!
How can i change my affiliate link so that i remain my id but it is not seen?
Maybe it is a stupid question but i am new to affiliate marketing and i need to earn living somehow because i lost my job and the situation is bad.

Independent from server and domain name, you can create a set of basic html files with a JavaScript refresh tag to the affiliate links. This way you can set a timing of 1 second and even add your own analytics code to the pages...
Your redirects will work, when visitors mouse over your links they will see a page within your own website and best of all you can see through Google analytics the traffic each redirect page gets... Depending on your structure you can create 1 redirect per link/or product and track them individually :-) No need to buy new domain and worry with advanced programing! Good luck
Below code example (for my privacy I replaced my Google ids for XXXX) I also have a conversion code:

window.onload = setTimeout(myRedirect, timeout); // ensure we load the whole page
function myRedirect() {
window.location = "YOUR AFFILIATE LINKS HERE";
}
//-->
</script>

I am installing an amplifier in my 2002 Nissan Maxima, where should the remote power on wire go?
I'm not sure where it goes, there is a seperate set of power lines, but I'm not sure if I should tie it in with that or somewhere else. Plus there are two wires that are in that plug.

Question answered by wishmaster
If you have a aftermarket radio then there should be a wire on the radio that is blue with a white stripe,it may even have a little tag on the wire labeled remote turn on or remote amp.
This wire needs to go to the amp.
For which appliances do YOU use a 13 amp fuse in UK?
Just list the items in which you use a13amp fuse in the plug.

Question answered by Mark S
You can work out the current and amps of the appliance.
take the watts of the appliance and divide it by the voltage.
i.e. a vacuum cleaner is likely to be 1200 watts, some are 1400, check the label or tag on the appliance. It may be on the bottom of a kettle.
1200 divided by 240 volts is 5 amps. You will need a 5 amp fuse in your plug.
If you have a table lamp with one 60 watt bulb, 60 divided by 240 volts = 0.25 amps. the smallest plug fuses generally available are 3 amps, therefore fit a 3 amp fuse. You would need a 13 amp fuse for a 3000 watt kettle
Most of the powerpoint wiring in domestic dwellings is 15 amps to cope with most common appliances. If on the same ring main you have a kettle on, a washing machine running, whilst hoovering and somebody else is doing the ironing you are likely to overload the 15 amp ring main and a fuse in the fusebox could trip. Cookers and ovens are on a 30 amp ring main.

Question answered by The Correct Answer is
Is it an electric heat, natural gas, heat pump? Furnace is a broad term when it comes to HVAC and a little more information would be helpful. Is the equipment tripping possibly on a safety and you are just reseting it at the breaker or is the breaker itself tripping? Is the breaker mounted directly on the furnace (this is actually normal) or in the main breaker panel?
If it is the breaker that is tripping then you need to find the amp rating on the furnace for the heating mode. It should be labeled on a manufacture tag that may be located on the exterior or posibbly an interior panel. The fact that a 3 leg breaker was installed has no bearing on why the breaker might be tripping, whatever the rating is of the existing breaker that is what it will trip at if exceeded on any leg of volatge.
If the furnace stops working and you are just resetting it at the breaker and can't confirm that the breaker is the device that is tripping then it is possible that a safety in the furnace is locking out operation and you have been reseting it by cycling power. An example would be a natural gas furnace that has 'Hi-Limit' and 'Flame Roll-out safeties' that would lock out operation until manually reset. Electric heat furnaces have 'Hi-Limit' safeties as well.
Also with the type of furnace try to locate a model number for the furnace, that would be helpful as well with people trying to answer your question.
i recently bought a kill a watt meter to measure kwts,where can i find info about appliance kwts usage?
fergamjr
Question answered by David
Each appliance should have a label on it stating the actual Kw that appliance will use. An amp meter will give you a snapshot of the amperage or current draw of the wire feeding the appliance. Remember, this snapshot is for the time you are watching it and does not count for the actual Kw usage. Only a snapshot in time. How long will you be running this appliance? The formula below tells how we calculate wattage.
amperage X voltage = watts 1000 watts = 1Kwatt or Kw
Your pay for the total Kw used during a period of time. The snap shot of an amp meter will not tell you how much you used in a day or week. That can be done by a recording watt meter. This is what the power company uses to add up all the power you use. They charge by the # of kw per hour you use. This combination is call a Kilowatt Hour or Kwhr and will cost from 8 -18 cents per Kwhr.
The 100 watt light bulb is .10 Kw. Ten 100 bulbs would be 1 Kw. If you operate 10 ea 100 watt bulbs for 1 hr then you would pay for 1 Kwhr.
Again, each appliance must have a tag (required) to list the energy usage.
how many amps does a electric blanket pull?
Manimal
Question answered by ZORCH
I'll give you a guess. I'll bet they are about 50 watts total when full on. That would give about 1/2 amp. Notice the "full on" term. Most of the thermostats turn the heating element "full on" for a few minutes and then "full off". The time ration of the "on" and "off" periods is what controls the heat. The practical value of that observation is that on a warm night you may use only a few pennies of electricity, but when the thermostat click on, the blanket will draw full power. So, conductor sizes, breaker sizes, and the like need to be chosen for the worst case load.
Again, my guess is 1/2 amp. If you have one, look at the tag on the foot or the label on the bottom of the thermostat. Divide watts by 110 to get amps. If your line voltage is different than 110 (e.g. Europe) use their line voltage.
Give me some advice about headphone, please...?
I wanna buy a headphone. My candidates are between Solo Monster Beat and Studio Monster Beat By Dr. Dre. I thought Studio is better because of the price.
1. Which one is better?
2. If you don't agree with me, please, let me know a better one..
Thanks for your advice..

Beats by Dr. Dre Studio High-Definition Headphones from Monster
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DD55OE?tag=dcmb-20
Review:
I've owned several pairs of cheap earbuds and my best pair of headphones for the past several years has been a pair of Sennheiser 280hd's. I used these with an ipod shuffle, 5th generation video, and 1st generation Touch. I also used them with a Toshiba laptop and a unibody Macbook Pro.
When I received the Monster Beats I tested them against the HD280's using my iPod Touch and I saw a difference, but to be honest, the difference to me didn't seem too big. I was a bit disappointed, but I got these headphones for four reasons: 1) They look great, 2) They are noise canceling, 3) They are comfortable, and 4) You don't need an amp for them to sound good. The HD280's look ugly, they cancel out noise passively pretty well, but they are SUPER uncomfortable. My girlfriend also noted how they clamp down on your head. After getting the Monster Beats I gave my girlfriend the HD280's and forgot about them.
Recently, I was over her house and decided to listen to them and my ears were opened. The Sennheisers had zero bass. I was listening to my iPod and I was scratching my head wondering were the bass went. I brought out my Monster Beats and the difference was huge. I've never been a big fan of heavy bass but the Monster Beats don't have exaggerated bass. Some people will buy the Monster Beats thinking because they sport the Dr. Dre label that they will have a ton of bass and they will be disappointed. You can expect a very balanced sound from these, classical music sounds fabulous on them.
One thing I've noticed about sound is that like a fine wine, it takes experience to get a sense of what is "good" and what is "bad". When I first got the Monster Beats I could barely tell the difference in sound signature between my two main headphones, but 2 months after owning them I can tell a huge difference within a second of owning them.
My next point is that these headphones are VERY sensitive. I believe the correct audiophile terminology is that they are "easy to drive". Basically this means that you don't need to buy an amp to get excellent sound out of them. The Sennheisers I've been told need an amp to sound good, they won't sound good plugged in directly to your iPod. I also need to turn the volume up much much higher on the iPod in order to get the same level of volume out of the headphones. On the Monster's I have to turn the volume knob down because they get very loud very easily. Many audiophiles will tell you that you can get a better sounding headphone for half the price, and then they forget to mention that you need to buy an amp for $200 dollars to get those headphones to perform well from an iPod or laptop. Then you have to deal with the fact that many of those headphones are heavy and ugly.
When you take into consideration the convenience(no additional amp needed), noise cancellation, looks, comfort and sound quality. Then the $350-$300 price tag isn't so ridiculous. These are the BEST noise canceling headphones out there, not even Sennheisers noise canceling headphones beat them and they are MORE expensive.
Now the noise canceling on these headphones I've been told aren't the best. I've heard some say that the HD 280's do just as good a job at canceling out sound passively but that's not true. I never blast my music, my ipod never passes the 45% mark on my ipod. To me, 45% is listening to music "loud". Usually it stays around the 30-40% range. With the HD280's I could hear people coming up behind me or trying to get my attention. With the Monster Beats I've been startled several times by people coming up and tapping me on the shoulder because I couldn't hear them. I like to study quietly but when I can't, listening to some music is the better option and I love that I can cancel out noise like this.
These headphones produce a very light "hiss". Remember the hiss on tapes? Something like that. You can call it a "hiss" or "white noise". It is very slight when you turn on the headphones, without plugging in to anything. When you are listening to music this hiss disappears. This hiss doesn't actually bother me, but they are VERY sensitive to interference. On my unibody Macbook Pro I get a very audible hiss that is a bit annoying, especially for movies.
It gets crazier. If I have my Monster Headphones plugged into my unibody Macbook Pro and I have my Macbook Pro and Toshiba laptop plugged into the same surge protector, I can put my hand on the Toshiba and hear an electrical disturbance. If I touch the Macbook Pro I hear no such disturbance though. When I first noticed this I decided to plug my headphones into the Toshiba to see how they would sound there and I got hissing AND buzzing. It was intolerable. Theres no way you could listen to anything on the Toshiba. I plugged in some cheap earbuds and the Toshiba sounded just as good as the Macbook Pro, no buzzing or h
