What good internet service providers are there?
Well, I currently have that Verizon mi-fi internet for home and i am not satisfied with it. Cons about it is that is not unlimited internet, and i constantly go over my 5GB every month. Pros is that it's potable internet and goes pretty fast sometimes. But i want to get a different internet that goes at fast speeds and is unlimited and wireless. We live 15 minutes outside a town and live in the mountains. where I live there's a Verizon tower and works great for a middle of nowhere place, but ive already checked Att's internet u verse thing and not available here goes the same for charter internet. What good internet providers are there that i could get in my situation? And no DSL beacuse ive had problems with that years ago thats why i got that verizon internet thing.
Thanks!
Ignacio

You can check your area for internet providers and see
what options you have. I am way out in the country here.
I only have one choice. So I have fast speed DSL with
AT&T. extreme 6.0 I am very happy with it. I have had it
now for 11 years and it has only been down for about one
hour since I have had it. That was because a construction
company cut the main line. I sit here 24/7 and can watch you tube
videos at 1080p. My computer runs lightning fast. I am in the
far north Atlanta Ga metro area. About 75 miles out.
What is internet that you get through your phones signal called?
What is internet that you get through your phones signal called? And is 3G internet you can get anywhere, even if you don't have signal? And is 4G/4GEE the same as 3G but faster?

Mobile phones support voice and data services. Voice is obviously normal voice telephony that allows you to talk to somebody. Data services allow your mobile phone to connect to the internet so that you can, for example, read and send emails.
Data services on you mobile phone are getting faster and faster. GPRS (2nd generation) data services were superceded by faster 3G (3rd generation) data services and now the new 4G (4th generation) data services are even faster than 3G, At the moment the only UK operator offering 4G services is EE. Other UK operators will be able to offer 4G services around the middle of 2013.
You do require a mobile signal in order to use mobile data services. It is also worth noting that 4G coverage is much more limited than 3G data coverage. So even though you have a mobile phone signal you may not be able to use 4G data services and will be limited to slower 3G data services.
Many modern smartphone also support WiFi. So if you are at a WiFi Hotspot but do not have a mobile phone signal then you will still be able to access the internet from your mobile phone using the WiFi Hotspot rather than the mobile phone operators network.

Buy a wireless router to hook up to your desktop. It will then project wireless internet for your house so you can use internet on your laptop - at least in your home. You can pick up a router from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, etc.
Good luck!
How fast would internet be on a private jet using satellite internet?
I've seen how fast internet can be form a cruise ship can be. It's slow. But private jets are supposed to be for business people who need to have constant access to the world. They can't suffer with slow internet, can they? So about how fast is the internet on a private jet using satellite internet in mbps?

With current technology its about 512k to maybe 1 meg, really it is. Sat internet is slow when compared to other connections. Just check Hughes Net http://consumer.hughesnet.com/faqs.cfm
or AirCell http://www.aircell.com/getting-started/inflight-internet-101
The fact is many private jets don't have internet.

There are many internet providers such as Clear-wire, Time Warner Cable, AT&T, etc...
I think it depends on how fast you want your internet is and how much you like to pay for it every month.
If you just want internet for browsing website, reading mails and searching, you can choose the basic option from AT&T.
For example: AT&T offer $15/month for 3mps which I think is really slow.
If you want internet for streaming music, video or downloading then you need a faster connection. In this case I think Time Warner Cable has the best. I just got their service this month which is $30/month for 10mps.
You don't need a computer to get the internet, what you need is a router modem which the internet providers will give you.
Then if you want a wireless connection, you have to buy a router wireless (anywhere in walmart, bestbuy...). A good router will keep your connection stable and fast.

I live in Tennessee and the sales tax here is almost 10%, so I can buy something over the internet and the shipping charge is sometimes cheaper than the sales tax.
I know some states are trying to require that sales taxes be collected on the internet, but I think requiring the sales tax over every purchase on the internet would be a monumental feat. Don't think that will happen in the next few years. That's why I even prefer shopping internet over even the shopping channels on tv......because the shopping channels charge both tax AND shipping.
I love shopping on eBay because I can normally find exactly what I was looking for and sometimes save as much as 50% on the item. I've bought around 75 items so far on eBay and I am a satisfied customer so far.
I still enjoy going to the mall and brousing in the department stores.......but if I'm planning on buying something expensive, I will probably come home and shop around on-line to see if I can find a better deal...........plus no tax.
Recently, I wanted to buy some shoes for work that cost $130 plus tax at my local store. I came home and bought them over the internet for $99 and got free shipping and no tax. Can't beat that. The shoes arrived and they were exactly as I ordered.

Itr depends on personal preference. If you want a conection that follows you everywhere get a cell phone internet card, but it may not pick up everywhere. I like cable broadband connections such as Comcast or Verizon but if you search blogs you will find there are issues with them also, especially Comcast. Then theres DSL a little slower, but some people like it better.. You will just have to research and determine what best fits your needs
What role has the internet played in political campaigns?
What role will the internet play in the future? Do you see the day when voting will happen through the internet?

Question answered by Cathlin
No voting through internet. The internet has helped in making a decision who to vote for. I go to their web sites to read their views on different issues, then I decide who to vote for.
How accurately does the anonymity of the internet reflect the opinions of the real world?
Are people on the internet allowed to be more truthful? Is it easier for them to lie? Do these two possibilities reach a balance? Is it impossible to tell because the internet is unpredictable and random?
Does the accuracy of the internet depend on the amount of internet you are encompassing? Are the opinions of the worldwide web more accurate than the opinions on Y/A?
Are the opinions that exist on the internet almost exactly the same as the thoughts of the general population?
Are the opinions on the internet grossly different from the opinions people publicly state?

If I had a room full of 13 and 14 year olds (like this usually is,) in the REAL WORLD, there is NO POSSIBLE way we could be having this level of intelligent discourse. The internet is unlike anything in the real world. Statements made here are neither more accurate or more deceptive, they are just more "real." People speak from the heart even if they are lying their asterisk off.
Opinions on YA! are brilliant given the source (no offense meant everybody.) We are not experts or pro-bono advisers. We are virtually a gaggle of chimpanzees doing particle physics. (Don't ya love the mixed metaphors in that one?)
Yahoo Answers is NOT A SOURCE of validated information. You would have to be crazy to come here looking for information you were going to rely upon as fact. Wikipedia is much more stringent and is three fourths lies and distortions, so, you gets what you pay for.
But I found people who understand concept in here that I have spent a lifetime looking to discuss with someone in vain.
YA! is NOTHING LIKE REALITY, THANK YOU GOD.
