In the Venetian in Vegas there is a hat shop what is the name?

When I was in Vegas there was a hat shop that I loved and wanted to look up online. Unfortunately I thought I would remember the name but I don't. Does anyone know what it is called? It sells nothing but hats.

What should i name a hand made hat shop on etsy?

so i crochet hats, and my sister had a good idea- that i should make a hat shop on etsy, so i need a good name for the shops. im always really bad with names so its hard for me to come up with one. i probably wont be selling them just yet, as i still need to learn more styles of making them, and as of yet i have only made my self 2 hats and my sister 2 hats, so it might take a few weeks for me to start selling them. and i might sell other little things, like little coin purses or just little things i can make out of the left over yarn.

What were the different kind of stores in the 1800s-1880s?

I know they had millner stores which were hat shops, because I looked it up and apparently, one of my great-great-great-great aunts owned a millner's shop. I also know that some of my ancestors were coopers (barrel makers, I guess), and I know other ancestors in my family owned shops, but I'm not sure what kind of shops. What were the different kind of stores/shops in the 1800s-1880s?

Question answered by Louise C

That is very interesting about your great-great-great-great aunt owning a milliner's shop, and your other ancestors being coopers. There would have been butchers, fishmongers, grocers, greengrocers, bakers, dressmakers, tailors, shoemakers, jewellers, ironmongers (sellers of tools, kitchen implements, gardening implements etc). Sweetshops of course ( candy stores in the USA). Bookshops. Toyshops. Stationers (sellers of writing paper, envelopes, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc etc - these would be important in the days when most people wrote a lot of letters). Drapers (where you bought materials for making clothing, important in an age when a lot of people still made their own clothes) Chemists (pharmacies). And from about the 1860s onwards, you got the advent of the great department stores, which made a big difference to live in America and teh UK as well. In 'America's women' Gail collins writes: 'The department store was a revolution. Everything was on display, and there was no pressure to buy. The prices were fixed and the waulity was standardized, reducing the risk in making a purchase. The dpeartment stores also imposed a new, very American kind of democracy, in which everyone was equal as long as they had the money to pay (Marshall field instructed his clerks to call all customers 'ladies' no matter what their dress or manners). Even poor women enjoyed the stores' big, carefully decorated windows, with displays that changed regularly.'

How do I start an emailing list for a small business?

So I currently work at a Hat Shop, and I have an idea to start an emailing list to send out newsletters, deals, and keep people updated on any new inventory that we have. I was wondering what a good program to use for this would be? I am looking for something cheap (hopefully less than $15 per month), and preferably one with an autoresponder. I also want one where it would be easy to make an attractive newsletter that will open in their email (instead of attaching a word document or PDF). I plan on just inviting people to join the email list and then having them fill out their name and email address and then hopefully I will be able to send new signups special deals (so that I can give people who just signed up a deal of say 10% off or whatever). One thing that worries me about sending out coupons is getting people who print out the same coupon several times and keep on using it, how could I prevent this? Any suggestions and ideas would really help, thanks

Jake M

Question answered by James

Hi, if your email list will be smaller than 2000 subscribers then you should go with MailChimp because it is free for lists that are under that size. It includes tools for creating nice looking emails and an autoresponder. If your list is larger than that then you will not find a quality service that only charges $15 a month unfortunately. The cheaper services have very low inbox deliverability rates which means that your emails may never make it to your subscribers. Aweber is a popular choice for larger lists and boasts a high inbox deliverability rate. In terms of the coupons you need to have some method of generating a unique code for every coupon that is issued and then storing that information after the coupon is redeemed. You could use a barcode or QR code for this to make data entry easier.

Have you traced back the history of your house?

I love programmes that trace the history of houses.Locals tell me that my house used to be a hat shop, and a fruit shop at one time too.And my first house used to be a butchers shop many years ago.Have you found out anything interesting about your home? I have ended up living on the very street that my late grandfather was born on.Older residents remember having to use a tap at the end of the street for their water supply.

Question answered by lilian c

yes our house is 200 yrs old and it used to be occupied by the workers of the local windmill down the road,we stilll have the foundations of the old wash house in the back garden, stil with the marks of the soot from the fire ingrained in the sandstone wall we have a few fotos of what it used to look like, and my husband tried to put back as many of the original features as he could before he died, its a lovely house.

Where can i buy a top hat (like a magician) in the Baltimore are?

I need a top hat for a magician costume, that is reasonably priced since its not actually being used to make magic. I'm a girl, so my heads a bit smaller, so i don't trust buying online. The only thing Ive been able to find are 200 dollar hats in magic shops. Anyone have any suggestions.

kristen b

Question answered by Magic One

Three main possibilities come to mind: party stores, costume shops and magic shops. Which you choose depends on the quality of hat you are seeking. Party stores often have inexpensive felt or flocked hats. Costume and magic shops will carry higher quality products with correspondingly higher prices. You might also try a formal wear shop. They might either sell or rent them.
