Where is the best and easiest place to get a second hand ABS Pump for 51 reg vauxhall vectra?
My ABS light has been on for some months, when the garage serviced my car they said I need a replacement ABS pump. They advised a second hand one would be best as they are £700 new from vauxhall. They have not been able to locate one from their parts dealer. How do I know which type I need and where would be a good place to get one?

junk yard. Cheap than than the parts stores. Look up Car recyclers (the pc term now) in your area. Some will have it off a car already. others you bring your own tools.
Why are my brakes making a squealing noise?
Recently my car has been making a squealing noise. A garage serviced it last week and replaced something in the brakes (pads?) but today the squealing noise happened again. Any ideas?

does anybody have any good ideas for a flyer design for a garage and basement cleaning service.?
Im trying to start my own garage cleaning service and I really am lost as to how to go about it. I figured a good first step would be to make flyer's to put up in local gas stations. But when I tried to think what would be eye catching i got brain freeze. Any helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question answered by DeeZee
Your not just a garage cleaner, your an organizer. You start by removing the junk they don't want, then provide services in how to prevent this from happening again, like shelving, bins, wall board with holes for different types of hanging, a loft system. Then you put their stuff back in the neatest possible order. In a flyer you explain your service in stages and show example pictures. Tip your business will only strive off of referrals so every customer should be treated like your last. Good luck
How can I avoid be ripped off with service charges?
I have run a Smart car for about five years because I do take economic and environmental issues seriously. I have no complaint with the vehicle and will ultimately hope to replace it with another. The one area that maddens me is that I seem to have no alternative but to take it to a Smart garage for servicing and the cost are outrageous. Whatever happened to choice?

Buy a fixed-price service contract.
These are available from smart in the UK (see http://www.smart.com/-snm-0164329964-1153205850-0000016005-0000006781-1155043535-enm-is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/mpc-uk-content-Site/en_UK/-/GBP/SVCPresentationPipeline-Start?Page=issite%3a%2f%2fmpc-uk-Site%2fmpc-uk%2ecom%2fRootFolder%2fsmart%2fAfter%20Sales%2fService%20Contracts%2fServiceContract_intro%2epage ) but I don't know how much it costs.
For some cars these are very good value - especially the "tlc" packages available with new MINIs in the UK.
Alternatively lease your car, rather than buying it, and you can have the service costs included in the lease.
Note that it is illegal under EU legislation for the manufacturer to insist that you use their franchise dealers for servicing - however if you have an additional "dealer" insurance-backed warranty (which the second and third years of many new-car warranties are) then using a non-franchised dealer for servicing may invalidate this warranty.

We are opening up a business of our own......a garage/service center. We are in need of a counter for when people first walk in. Where would I look for one of those? Reasonably priced would be a plus. Thanks.

Those are custom built to fit the space.
You'll need to hire a cabinet maker or finish carpenter.

What action can I take if a garage does not give me a car's service history?
After buying a used car from a garage, the service history was missing despite the car being advertised with full servivce history,I have been back to the garage on several occasions but each time I am told they are chasing it. It is now 5 weeks since purchasing the car and there is only 3 months warrantry, What is the legal position? Clearly the car advertisement was misleading if the garage does not provide the service history.

Question answered by Ian G
You may be able to make a claim against the garage as they have advertised the car with FSH and they have not been able to produce it. This is against the trades description act as you bought the car on the description they provided. They have to, by law, adhere to this.
I would let them know that I will be taking action against them, that should speed them up. If you succeed then you may be able to get the cost of the car back or at least something back. The garage will not want to tarnish its reputation I'd guess so I would expect that theywill want to do something, even as a goodwill gesture.
