I am looking for a way to have cheap furniture delivered to my apartment the day I move in.?
I am moving into an apartment in Austin, TX on August 23. I am looking for a way to purchase cheap furniture used or new and have it delivered to my door. Every cheap furniture option I can find either requires pick-up or ships through the mail which doesn't give a specific delivery date. Does anybody know of a way I can have cheap furniture delivered to my door?

Ikea does delivery, and you can specify a certain day, at least if you go into a store and order in person you can.

I saw a segment on tv where they recommended taking an ice cube and placing it in the indentation. When melted and dried, the indentation should be gone.
How can we speed up the process of our carpet popping up after being squished by furniture?
We recently rearranged the furniture in our family room, leaving little depressions in the carpet where the old furniture used to be. Just little holes here and there, but nevertheless annoying. How to get rid of them- they take weeks to pop back up and they just are annoying!

What is the best way to get pet hair off of your furniture?
My cat and my dog shed terribly. I've tried vaccuuming the furniture, using packing tape, using those Pledge pet hair things, but it's like the couch is a magnet and you can't even tell I cleaned it. Does anyone have any tips or tricks you use to de-hair your furniture?

Question answered by horacethecheese
those sticky tape things are a nightmare but theres a cool sponge made of rubber that you get in pet shops and it really works for carpets i use one of those rubber squeegee mops just damp and they come off brilliantly. it has to be rubber though the ordinary sponge ones dont do so well. you can even use the sponge to rub the cat and the hairs stick to it as opposed to the brush which kindof flies it all around the room.

Yes Bills used furniture in Homestead, also, a consignment shop in Monongahela, You might want to have an estate sell with a qualified specialist. The above two mentioned do not pay very much for used furniture, you are probably better off using the Vietnam Veterans and getting a tax break...
For baby: which items would you buy USED and which items would you buy NEW?
I'm getting ready for my little girl that is due on 8/31 and I'm trying to put together as many things as possible BEFORE the baby shower.
I'm planning on buying the nursery furniture used but the bedding new.

Hi Red--
Well, of course you can get clothes, used.
You can re-use items like a swing, or a bouncy, or the lil'play yard/portable crib. Tub (no attached sponge), towels, wash clothes, hangers, mobile, bedding, Cradle/Bassinet. You can NEVER have TOO many receiving blankets!!!
Bottles can be re-used, but NOT the nipples You can always sterilize things like that in boiling water and bleach.
If you can find a bottle warmer & diaper wipes warmer(which baby will appreciate) Those are some great $$$$ saving buys!
Any Toys made of Hard Plastic, and No Batteries. I get wiery of stuffed animals though.
Cribs, are Iffy, cu'z if they are anything like MY Grand daughter, it doubled as a Giant Teething Ring. This caused the wood to splinter. I wouldn't GIVE her crib away! Use Caution there!
Just ANY THING you decide to Re-use, jump On-line and make sure there aren't any recalls. And avoid items that have multiple parts, Big & Small, just in case something is missing. Which reminds me. Get instructions with everything too!! Look Everything over like you would a new car. Just as the car will hold your precious baby, so will anything else you use.
That's all I can think of for now. If I think of more...I'll be back with EDIT!
Take Care you 2!! Lillsoma
