If you are "buying" an apartment that happens to be furnished then sure you get to keep it-the place and it's contents are all yours. I think what you mean is if you are renting an apartment that's furnished...then the answer is no. It's furnished as part of your rental agreement just like one where the utilities are included into the rent-you obviously can't take the electricity with you when you leave because it was offered to use while renting as a condition/feature of the rental.
What can I do about goods ordered but not delivered in the specified time?
On 29 December I ordered furniture from my local Harveys Furnishers and was quoted an 8-week delivery period. Five months later and I am still waiting. I have contacted the store in person, by telephone and by letter but have had no response. I have contacted Harvey's head office but haven't heard from them. I paid most of the money and signed a Fixed Sum Loan Agreement with 12 months interest free credit for the balance. There is seven months left to run on this but I have no furniture to show for it. I want to cancel the order and get back the money that I paid up-front, but what do I need to do to cancel the loan agreement? Do I have to sue them, and, if so, how do I go about it? What are my rights in this instance? Presumably, the credit company will have made a payment to Harveys for the furniture that I am still waiting for, so, in theory, I have to pay them. Or do I?

watchdog,!
Contact the head office. say they have totally exceeded the agreement and ask for your agreement to be cancelled! 5 months is outrageous. We were quoted 16-18 weeks for a leather suite which took 22 and came in the wrong colour( dark brown instead of black) complained highly told them to take it back or 25% off...we won! why are you paying before the item arrives? bombard head office with letters phone calls etc...make sure you send letters registered post to ensure to can state the letters were received..then contact Trading standards. The fact that you have heard nothing from Head Office is very suspect...Citizens Advice Or Trading Standards is your best bet!
Also small claims court...it will cost you approx £40 and get trading standards on your side..I did it with MFI ! I won again

How was furniture made in the 1800s? This is an interesting question.
One site to look at is www.oldandsold.com/articles03/victorian_furniture1.
The story of Victorian furniture, part 1, part 2, and part 3.
Also, encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia has approx. 9 pages of furniture information (how furniture was made).
This should get you started. Good luck!

What colour should I paint my bedroom?
I want to paint my bedroom and my bed frame and nightstand is baby blue colour and the other furnisher is like a golden brown colour. I don't want a bright popping colour either I want a more natural colour. I was thinking something like red but I don't know if that would match? Have any suggestions?

If you don't want something to eye-popping, a safe option is Navajo white. It is a shade of orange, which is a complement to blue and goes with brown shades.

You can go a few shades warmer or darker if you want the color to stand out a little bit more.
If you clicked the link and didn't like the color, you can go to the bottom of the page and click on other shades of orange and yellow to find something you like.

Would my credit score go up instantly if I did this?
Until just about 4 to 5 months ago my credit score was pretty good. But, I got sick and fell behind in paying on my Sears card bill. I wasn't able to pay my funnisher payment either, and maybe one or two more bills that were not really big ones. But, here is my question next week I am to planning on receiving a little over $5,000.00. I will pay off the small bills and the furnisher bill, and will put quite a bit on my sears account, which will get me out of the hole with them. Will my credit score go up within maybe a week or so.Or will it takes some months for it to get back where it was before? I was thinking it should be a little better because I am going to pay some things off. Tell me what you think.

It will help a little, but not much. Creditors like to see the length of responsible payments. I had the same thought, and asked a creditor assitant about that. my credit is a little below average because I paid off several of my loans to early. So I think you shoud add a bit more to your payment and gradually pay them off a little faster, but not all at once. Good luck.

Maybe you can copy and paste some pics of old buildings windows, just the windows and print them and picture putty them to the wall to look like a building. or print some city pics and cut out silhouettes of people dancing or something and put them on the wall or as a border around the ceiling. and if you have a box of the snap together wood flooring you can glue them together and lay it on the floor like a rug and paint it to look like a side walk, or print some pics of looking down off a tall building and clear coat it to the wood flooring so when you look down, you are looking way down. maybe Staples or Kinko's can make you a larger print poster and you can glue it to the floor and put several coats of poly urethane over it. idk i'm just thinking of stuff.

Myth: Debt consolidation saves interest, and you have one smaller payment.
Truth: Debt consolidation is dangerous because you treat only the symptom.
Debt consolidation is nothing more than a "con" because you think you've done something about the debt problem. The debt is still there, as are the habits that caused it - you just moved it! You can't borrow your way out of debt. You can't get out of a hole by digging out the bottom. True debt help is not quick or easy.
Larry Burkett, noted financial author, says debt is not the problem; it is the symptom. I feel debt is the symptom of overspending and undersaving. Our certified counselors will not recommend debt consolidation for a client. Why? Because debt consolidation doesn't work.
Debt Consolidation Statistics
A friend of mine works for a debt consolidation firm whose internal statistics estimate that 78% of the time, after someone consolidates his credit card debt, the debt grows back. Why? He still doesn't have a game plan to either pay cash or not buy at all. He also hasn't saved for "unexpected events" which will also become debt.
Debt consolidation seems appealing because there is a lower interest rate on some of the debt and a lower payment. However, in almost every case we review, we find that the lower payment exists not because the rate is actually lower but because the term is extended. If you stay in debt longer, you get a lower payment, BUT if you stay in debt longer, you pay the lender more, which is why they are in the debt consolidation business.
Can I act against the Estate agent and can the tenant remove contents from my garage?
I met with two estate agents and gave my house to them for rental, Both were told that the house should be rented out furnished as it is or in the case of unfurnished, the garage will be excluded as the furnisher will be stored in the garage. The agents rent the house out and we said we will remove the furnisher as soon as we can so the tenant can have access to the garage but at our convenience.
The tenant now want to place the contents of the garage in storage, and the agent keep calling and threatening me with solicitors and police.
In the contract it apparently state that the garage is included, but i never received a copy of the tenancy agreement.
I have not received a tenancy agreement from the agent. What action can I take against the agent as i don't really have money to spend on these things. Any advice please
Charmaine
Question answered by AB Gnome
The police would never get involved with this as it's a civil matter. The fact that the "estate agents" threatened this, proves that they are lying scumbags, no surprises there.
Ditch them as soon as you can and find someone you can trust, or do it yourself.
