Need help finding a company or supplier?

How can I build a metal casting foundry?

I've seen numerous videos on youtube showing the foundries as well as many sites that describe what it looks like. I can not find a free guide to building a cheap one that will last for a good while as well. I'd like to do it for under 200 if possible, does anyone know any sites with a how-to-guide including materials needed and instructions. A video instruction would be nice, but at this point I would settle for text.

Can a coffee can style backyard foundry get hot enough to melt copper?

I'm thinking of building a foundry for melting down aluminum, copper and possibly silver as well. Just for something to do. I plan on pouring ingots, the small muffin-pan style ones. Can the charcoal get hot enough to melt down copper with forced air blown through a hair dryer?

Question answered by wvparanormal

No, but a backyard copper foundry can get hot enough to melt coffee cans.

Any tips on getting a foundry hot enough to metal titanium?

I have a foundry for metaling cast iron and some steels but I want to know how to get it hot enough to melt titanium. NO CRAP ABOUT SAFETY.

You'll need over 3000 degrees Fahrenheit. An Oxyacetylene torch would do it.

How do i make my own Foundry content for Neverwinter?

Where do i go to access the tools for making Foundry quests or is it even available to the public yet and if no the when will it?

gibbs

Question answered by loramack

You can access the tools from the character creation screen, just click on a character that you've created then on the button for 'Foundry' and it will take you into the creation tool. You might want to look at a tutorial or two first, so here's a video which should help you get started. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Nyx7_7LFHJw

What laundry detergent should i use for a foundry workers clothes?

My husband works at a foundry and his clothes are always black with foundry dust when he comes home and covered in metal shavings (they hurt when stepped on). So when laundry time comes I shake out his clothes outside but when it comes to washing the clothes ...my detergent doesn't do a very good or thorough job..I use Xtra detergent. Does anybody have any recommendations? Thank you!

A foundry has been commissioned to make souvenir coins. The coins are to be made from an alloy that is 35% silver. The foundry has on hand two alloys, one with 60% silver content and one with a 10% silver content. How many kilograms of each alloy should be used to make 23 kilograms of the 35% silver alloy?

Ashley O

Question answered by sd3r

8.214 Kg of 80% Ag 14.786 Kg of 10% Ag assuming the alloy weighs exactly as much as silver. rarely the case, but no other information was given. the final product (35% Ag) must contain 23Kg x 0.35 = 8.05Kg silver some amount of 80% silver (A) + some amount of 10% silver (B) must make up 8.05Kg 0.8 A + 0.1 B = 8.05 8A + B = 80.5 B = 80.5 - 8A the total amount of A plus the total amount of B = 23Kg A + B = 23Kg A + (80.5 - 8A) = 23Kg 80.5 -7A = 23Kg A = (80.5 - 23) / 7 = 8.214Kg B = 80.5 - 8A = 80.5 - (8 x 8.214) = 14.786Kg to check... 8.214 x 0.8 = 6.5712Kg silver 14.786 x 0.1 = 1.4786Kg silver 6.5712 + 1.4786 = 8.05Kg silver 8.05 / 23 = 0.35 = 35%
