"D" is right one.

What are the best foods to buy organic?

We dont have lots of money but I would like to start eating more organic food. I already eat organic apples, organic mixed greens and organic peanut butter. What are the BEST foods to choose to eat organic. I heard milk and meat are good ones. Any others? I dont plan on eating everything organic but choosing the ones that are best bang for your buck.

Question answered by Yummy Canadian Mummy

Hey MissLiss, I've heard meats and dairy since the fat in these foods tends to absorb more of the pestcides and growth hormones used in conventional farming. However, I've also started to use organic, unbleached flour in my baking and found that everyting I baked turned out nicer. Of course, organic fruits and veggies (when they're in season) are tastier and healthier. You might even find that there's a co-op organic farm nearby that you can get a membership tp for not too much money.

Question answered by Carol

You are just lucky you did not kill your guinea pig the first time around I am so happy you are asking mow, please no potatoes, Feed and Seed stores, and most large pet stores sell pellets in bulk form, dig in the couch pillows that is almost always good for 50 cents and that will feed your guinea pig for a few days. Feed and Seed stores and where the local farmers shop so every thing in in bulk and is 1/10 of what you would pay for it in a pet store. I know if your were to go in and tell them you are broke they would front you a cup of pellets and a pit of hay. Feed and Seed stores can also be called Tractor Supply Stores or Farm Supply stores. Go to my You Tube site and view Feed and Seed and A good Buy http://www.youtube.com/user/GuineaPigPersonals These videos will show you how cheap things are in a feed and seed store. I was reading the pine shavings upside down so made mistakes, it was 12 cubic feet for only $10.00, it is now up to $11.00, in a pet store you would get a bag 1/2 that size for $50.00. I hope I have guided you to some help.

How to stop flies from biting a dogs ears?

My sister has a farm dog so he's outside and we live in the south so its already super hot and flies have started biting his ears. She doesn't get paid much so she has been trying fly off spray for dogs and got a cream but are there any ways to prevent this?? I never had an outside dog, so I don't know what to tell her lol

LauraJean

Question answered by Coley

It just happens and some dogs are more prone to it than others. I never found the fly spray to work for very long. The creams can work if you apply well enough. I usually just bought some flea and tick powder, mixed with Vaseline and gooped it on their ears. If his ears are already to the point of being red, raw, and oozing, you will need to treat that and not apply chemicals. But if he is hairless or has blackish looking sandy gritty stuff...use whatever works to keep the flys away. Get some screw worm spray from your local farm supply store (TSC or the like) This can be used on open wounds. You will find it in the livestock/cattle section. Aerosol can. Used to prevent flys in open wounds in livestock such as from castrations etc. Cleaning up fecal matter in his yard is going to go along way to help as well, if that is an issue. Other than that...you take it as it comes ;)

About my chocolate lab puppy is he purebred or mixed?

I just purchased a chocolate lab puppy last month from a farm in PA. The owners told me he was purebred. But looking at him now at 4 and a half months of age I noticed that his tail is not otter like which is a characteristic of labs. His tail is more thin than fat. But it is straight and not curled and towards the end of his tail he has swirly hair. It is too early to tell or is he not a purebred after all. I really want to know because if he is not a purebred I want to get my money back.

Question answered by vegetarianjess

Why would you have a dog for months and want to get rid of him because he may not be purebred? You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. What a snob. Mixed breeds are the best dogs! They're healthy & get the best of multiple dog personalities. No one cares if your dog has a stupid piece of paper or not, people like you shouldn't own a dog if you can't love it for being itself, not because it's a purebred.

what are some policies indonesia uses to make their agriculture sustainable?

I need to know some policies/laws used by the indonesia government to be more sustainable, eg looking after their enviroment. But it needs to be ones that are based around agriculture and if possible rice farming as that is what my project is on. What is the DEFINITIVE way of cooking Cocktail weenies?

I've seen all these different recipes and there's all these funky ones. I have 3 pack of the smaller Hilshire farms beef weenies and 2 bottles of Hunts "Hickory and Brown Sugar" BBQ sauce. Where do I go from there? I'm using a crockpot too.

BOOOOOO

Question answered by ♥Cutie226♥

Are you making them today? I have a wonderful recipe at home. I can put it on here tomorrow. You make a sauce in a pan on the stove & let it simmer for about an hour, then you pour it over the weenies. I put mine in a crockpot to keep them warm throughout the event. The recipe has ketchup, onions, brown sugar & whiskey in it, but I don't have the amounts here with me at work. The alcohol in the whiskey cooks out, but still leaves the flavor in. (They are really delicious & I actually hate whiskey!!! LOL) EDIT: Here's the recipe I promised! I actually made them last night & brought them in to work for our Christmas lunch today. 3/4 c. whiskey 1 1/2 c. ketchup 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 small onion, chopped 2 lbs. cocktail weiners Mix first four ingredients in large pan & simmer on low for one hour, stirring occasionally. Then add weiners & heat thoroughly. *When hot, I put them in a crockpot on the low setting to keep them warm. They can also be made the night before & reheated in the crockpot the day of the party. *I also usually double this recipe when I make them.

How do I select a labradoodle?

We're in the early stages of selecting a dog. We settled on a "doodle" (golden or lab we're not sure) due to allergies. My question is whether or not to require paperwork for the dogs. We're finding a wide range of price for this dog. One of the breeders we found has been doing it for 5 years on his farm. Both the dogs parents are still living on the farm and are available for us to meet. If the parents seem healthy and the dog checks out with our vet, is there any reason to not go with the less expensive (not papered) puppy?

bigboatguy

Question answered by anne b

I am not sure what kind of paperwork you are referring to. If you are looking for breed and ancestry paperwork, as these dogs are all mutts, I doubt you will find any. If a breeder offers you breed paperwork, run, because it is fake. As far as what to look for in paperwork, just a vet certification is not good enough. You need hip scores for starters, as hip dysplasia is a very important worry. There are other genetic tests that need to be done as well, and std tests, so if you dont see paperwork for those, you have not found a good breeder. Just so you know, none of these mixes are guarranteed to not shed. Because they are mutts, they do not breed true to any standard and could come out shedding like crazy. If you truly need hypoallergenic, you should look into standard poodles.

What state has the most unique culture?

Can't be either California or New York- everyone knows their cultures, those aren't interesting anymore. I wanna find something new and fresh! Something different! I live in Texas. The culture here, well, not only cowboy tales that every other state seems to label us as- but we have some Cajun culture in Galveston Island. Galveston is like a mix of Louisianna, Texas, and a little bit of NYC. Is their any more exotic cultures in the USA?

Eva

Question answered by tuffy

The state that has the most unique culture is South Carolina. On the Sea islands off the coast of South Carolina. It is a group of blacks who have their own language, operate restaurants, and have artisans who paint and sing. Marquetta L. Goodwine is known as the Gullah Queen. Gullah is their language. She presents "histo-musicals" all over the country in both English and Gullah. Gullah is spoken by people of African descent. For a century after the Civil War they were abandoned. It is the culture with families who live on the same farms of their ancestors, grow their own food, pick sweet grass to make baskets, and one-room praise houses of their ancestors.Martin Luther King Jr. has a safe house there built for him in the 1960s when he was receiving death threats.
