What is the name of the Examination board in Belgium?

I'd like to know what the name of the Examination board is in Belgium and particularly if there are separate ones for both Flanders and the Walloon region?

Bexmcr123

Question answered by ArianaDM

No, not for the regions, education is a Community matter, not regional. So the Frenchspeaking Community and the Flemish Community organize things for their linguistic group. For the Flemish Community it's Examencommissie (Examination board) http://www.ond.vlaanderen.be/secundair/examencommissie/ (No English version, but you need to know Dutch to participate anyway) For the French Community it's Jurys de la Communauté française http://www.jurys.cfwb.be/accueil.asp (Again, no English, same reason apart that you need to know French, not Dutch) The diplomas are equal, though.

Which GCSE examination board is the most difficult?

There are five GCSE examination boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and CCEA. Which one tends to give the most difficult GCSE examination papers? Why?

T.A. Ryan

Question answered by Jonathan

I think OCR is the most difficult examination board. You can simply read the syllabus and it demands a lot from candidates. WJEC, AQA, and Edexcel are almost the same in terms of difficulty, and CCEA is probably the easiest. This is only an opinion though.

How do you find GCSE examination boards from the 1980's?

In 1988 at Settle High school I got an English O level/GCSE. I have lost the certificate and would like to get a copy. To do this I need to know the examination board. How do I find this out? Also it is summer and the school is closed so I cannot ask them!

Richard

Question answered by Batsheep

After a lot of amalgamations, there are only 3 English exam boards left, AQA, Edexcel and OCR. If you contact them with all the details you can (school, name, date of birth, subjects you studied) and pay them, then they will provide you with a 'certifying statement of results', which is the closest you can get to a replacement certificate. Links to websites attached. However, if you can wait a while, most schools will provide a letter listing your results for free which satisfies most employers.

Why are we still using QWERTY as a default when evidence shows Dvorak is better?

And why do some examination boards ban it? Yeah, it's just me and a few friends, conducted a test and discovered in a week, we could type faster with |Dvorak than we had been doing touch typing with Qwerty. I just don't understand why we'd stick with a backwards version, simply so a few settings don't have to be reconfigured. Graduate Record Examination, for example, doesn't allow you to use one.

How to write a title for formal letter to university?

How to write a title for formal letter to university? I want to reply a letter which has been send for and on behalf of the examination board and send by Ms ... and she is academic support administrator . so how to satrt the title. Its about a request i have from the examination board. is it correct: The examination board University of the Arts London Ms Leontovitsch,

googeha

Question answered by Sarah

For a letter you need to put your own address on the top left hand side of the paper followed by the date underneath. On the top right hand side you put who you're addressing the letter to (so in your case The Examination Board, University of the Arts London would appear on the right). When writing to someone it's polite to include the word 'Dear'. It's more professional and formal. So the opening of your letter should be: Dear Ms. Leontovitsch,

How can I tell whether a music piece is in duple or triple time rythm?

I am having a piano exam coming up very soon and am having trouble stating whether a passage is in duple or triple time. "RHYTHM: The examiner will play twice a passage in duple or triple time. The candidate will then tap or clap the passage and state whether it is in duple or triple time." -The Australian Music Examination Boards Many thanks to anyone who can give me some tips. :)

RiteTub

Question answered by Rain

If a piece is in duple time, you'll be able to count 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4... easily to the rhythm of the piece. If a piece is in triple time, you'll be able to count 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. Another method of determining duple or triple is trying to draw a shape to the beat of the music. If you can draw a square with your hand, then it's duple. If you can draw a triangle, then it's triple. You can also listen for strong beats. If the piece goes something like ONE two (THREE) four ONE two (THREE) four, then it's in 4/4 time. Pieces in 4/4 have accented beats on 1 and a slight accent on beat 3. If it goes ONE two ONE two, then it's in 2/2 time. Both are duple meters. ONE two three ONE two three is triple meter. Both 2/2 and 3/4 have strong beats only on 1. Or, you could try to determine the rhythm based on the style of the piece. This is not the most reliable way to find your answer but it serves as great back-up evidence. Marches are almost ALWAYS in duple time (2/2, to be exact). Triple time is often used for dance melodies, most commonly the waltz (3/4). Good luck! I hope that helps. :)

What are the gcse options available next year?

I am in year 8 and wondering what choices I have in year 9 when choosing my GCSE options. I would like to know what subjects are in each group to choose from so I can start to focus on certain subjects. Please help. Also, the GCSE examination board is WJEC if that changes anything.

Question answered by Unused account

Well it depends what your school is offering. If you wanna see the subjects WJEC provide its on their website. http://www.wjec.co.uk/index.php?subject=30&level=7

What is envolved with ameb prac exam clarinet grade 1?

Ameb is Australian Music Examination Board. Does anyone know or have a website to find out what scales are envolved? Thanks

Bradley

Question answered by bubble wrapping

Well I'm not too sure about clarinet, and I haven't done a first grade exam myself, but I've done higher grades. They shouldn't be too hard really, you'll probably get ones like C major and D major etc, and I don't know if you will need the relative harmonic and melodic minors. Try this website: http://www.ameb.edu.au/ and also you should definately ask your instrumental teacher, they should know. Good luck :D
