I like going to discos and parties and am also concert about my hearing. I've heard that the sound pressure in discos exceeds the healthy level which should be lower that 85 dB. As I'm wondering how come the workers in discos don't seem to have any hearing problem when I talk to them even in a low voice, I wanna find out at which dB the sound pressure is in discos. Is there a simple device which can do the job?

Sure... buy an SPL meter. There's a relatively cheap one ($49.95) sold at Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/sm-digital-display-sound-level-meter--pi-2103667.html This gives you a digital readout, in dB(SPL), which is what you want. You may find similar units at your local music store, or online: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=spl+meter I use Hearos when I'm around too much loud music for too long. They offer reusable or disposable models, and in particular, a few with a neutral effect on frequency, which is important for music, particularly when you're the one playing it. http://hearos.com/earplugs/products.html May be less of an issue in a disco situation, but they're still good hearing protection, without being too obvious.

A friend and I will be going to Cebu this June so we’re looking to have some fun at a couple of discos while we’re there. Club Vudu is the best place for party people and should go on friday or saturday... there are also alot of good disco house along mango street. jaguar is also a nice place for bikini bars and you can also see alot on mango street...

You're pretty young to be worried about your appearance so much. But wear a dress, but a comfortable one, and not too out there. No lime green poofy numbers. When I was your age I just wore jeans. I wore jeans to discos in year 9 too. So if you're comfortable with that, they can look nice too, and you don't need to go out and buy things. Just get something together from your wardrobe if you have it. Make sure it suits you and isn't just what everyone else is wearing. Have fun!

May and October are the best seasons in Turkey especially in Antalya , June , July , August are great too but it gets more than 40 degree so I think that is not a good. Every year I make an excellent Holiday in Turkey in Antalya also in Alanya in May. Yo Like Definitly zip tye it to the roof dude. Man there ain't nothen kuller than a zip tyed disco ball ...... Ok lets get real, Your options are , an adhesive which will destroy the headliner if ever removed ... or a suspension device which penetrates the headliner and permanently connects to the roof sub frame. Simple Eh???

Hi there! I would say the Iberostar Costa Dorado or the RIU Bachata would be your best bets for great hotels with good discos. The Iberostar Costa Dorado has the Route 66 Disco, which is open 6 nights a week from 11pm - 2am. As the resort is all inclusive, entrance to the disco and drinks at the disco are included with your package. The RIU Bachata has the Pacha Disco, also open 6 nights a week. Drinks and entrance are included there as well. In addition to the discos, the resorts also have lots of other great activities to partake in - watersports, beach activities, dance classes - something for everyone!

Where can I find a suspended rotating Disco Ball?
