What are some native american tribes without casinos on their land?
I know that many native american tribes have opened casinos on their land in an attempt to solve economical issue they face. What are some tribes that have rejected this idea? I know the Haudenosaunee (Iroqouis confederacy) refuses to build casinos. Who else?
Thanks in advance!

The Hopi, continue to stand strong against casino on their reservation. There are other "rez" that do not have casinos. As one colleague mentioned, there are several California Nations that do not have casinos. Also, there are a couple of Nations that do not dispense gaming funds to individuals, the funds go directly back into the tribal budget.
NOTE: The Dine' (Navajo), opened up their "Fire Rock Casino," east of Gallup, NM, back in Nov. of 2008.

what is better between online casinos and real in person style casinos?
I am planning on playing in some online casinos, what is better though? Gambling in person or gambling online?
Question answered by Fred
I think it depends on people actually. If you prefer to have a taste of a real brick-and-mortar casino then you should go to Vegas!
Some people is just happy to be on the comforts of their own house, and it becomes a hassle if they will go to real casinos. So their option was to play online.

What effects does online casinos have on the industry at large?
Has there been any studies conducted on the effects of online casinos? Are they taking away business from land based casinos? Are they increasing business?

Its true that people alwaz select those that they find convenient for them. For most people those who reside faraway from a brick and mortar casino these online casinos form to be the right way to play and enjoy themselves. With the emergence of the internet casinos, people have started to play online. So yes there has been an overall impact on the online casino industry
How much do the larger casinos pay for Security personel in Vegas?
I have thought about moving to vegas for quite some time and have a strong background in Law Enforcement and Security. How much do the larger casinos pay on the Strip and do they have special units within the casino such as Protection Teams and do most of these promote from within. Will it help if I have a local Address or is it possible to get a position and then relocate.

Question answered by Bruna
Security officers seem to average roughly $12 per hour, but the range is about $10-$17 per hour. Some armed guards are on the higher end, some unarmed guards on the lower end. But even then it can still be variable. It also depends on the hotel/casino, some will pay more than others.
Although its not a requirement, most casinos seem to promote from within. For example, at a Harrah's owned casino, promotion to security sergeant or security officer level III position requires previous experience at a Harrah's casino. Education always helps with promotions also.
How do casinos link the progressive jackpots on slot machines together?
Have you ever played a slot machine like say wheel of fortune for example and you notice the digital displayed progressive at the top that is rising. My question is if many casinos combine into this jackpot how is it linked? Via internet? Any casino insiders out there?

Question answered by DoNna
all the casinos of each particular group are linked together by a network. so, it is quite clear that the jackpot amount is counted and growing automatically. you may read more about progressive slots here http://www.jackpot-casinos.com/online-slots/progressive-jackpots.html
Do you think bringing casinos to Ohio is a good for the local economy?
I have seen towns around certain casinos and they all seem to be a little run down. Then you have Vegas which is in the middle of nowhere. Can Cleveland possibly get worse? Crime, poverty, and so on.

Question answered by mr.longshot
Oh.. It can and will get worse when casino style gambling shows up.. My home town (Auburn, Wa.) went to hell after the casino and racetrack went in.. The only other thing that was built? Was a larger jail.
What Vegas Casinos Are Most Favorable for Counting?
What vegas casinos are best for counting? By "best" I mean ones that offer tables with a low edge to start with and also don't set off the alarms by large bet variances. Please feel free to also share any other information you have that relates to this question.

How does camera security work for table games at casinos?
What's the level of internal control like for table games [in casinos]? I know each table has a camera above it. Is there a security personnel for EACH table monitoring the activity? And is there another security personnel watching the other security personnel that's watching the dealer, and so fourth? Just curious.

Question answered by mamacitac9
Depending on how big the casino is will determine the amount of people watching the cameras. Each bulb above your head in a casino has 4 other cameras in it or 1 mobile camera. The people who operate them can scan a person or play at anytime. Usually the floor person or pit boss will notify the sercurity above aslo known as the eye in the sky as to a certain person or game to watch. My advice dont try to cheat you will get caught. I worked as a pit boss for 15 years you wont get away with it. Just about every spot except for the bathrooms are under watch.
