What kind of cleaning product do car washes use?

Okay, now I am a total car fanatic and love ot make them shine, but to get that shine it seems you have to go to a car wash. My question is, that kind of greasy shiner the car washes apply to your car is what? I thought it was amorall so I bought some from checkers, but I didn't get that glorious shine and that restored color of the plastics. So, what is it?

Question answered by Robert D

It all depends on what car wash you go to and what they use. If you're looking for a really shiny dash, honestly, you'll have to go with something greasy usually. I use Danase Diamond Gel for customers that want super shiny dashes. If you want a new look that will restore color and and leave it like new without a high gloss there are also tons of products for that.

Which types of car washes are safest for a car in order to not have marks on it?

I've seen different types of car washes and was curious which is least likely to leave swirl marks or marks in general and does a better job cleaning to get the full resale value of a car if planning to sell one? There's water pressure powered drive through car washes, car washes with brushes, car washes where people hand wash it with a mitt then sent through a car wash, and car wash places where you wash a car with a high powered water hose and scrub brush. Which of these would you recommend to save the paintjob?

.

Question answered by George

Anytime you wash a vehicle with anything be it a mitt or a sponge or a cloth or a brush you take a risk of scratching the paint with the dirt/grit you are trying to wash off. I prefer to do a touch free car wash, presoak the vehicle and then use high pressure to wash the vehicle, then use a brush only on the rims and tires, then rinse and then blow dry or hand dry.

How do drive through car washes work?

I want to take my car through one of those drive through car washes. I've never done it before but can't be bothered getting the bucket out and doing it myself. Are they easy enough to use, and do they do a good job?

its never easy

Question answered by Mum-Ra

I had the same predicament not long ago - I went up to get a drive thru. The BP ones you have to go into the shop and buy the wash, the cashier will give you a code and you type it in, the just drive onto the panels, take off your aerial from the car as well before you drive in, and then once you're in jst wind your windows up and sit and do nothing. It's easy. The just drive out when its done. It'll let you know when its finished.

Is it cheaper to wash my car at my home or at the touchless car wash?

I spend about 1 hour washing my car at home plus I waste alot of water I bet. At the touchless car wash I spend a few minutes and when I come home I use Meguiars detailing spray which is like wax which withstands multiple car washes. When i use auto washes I bring it home and wax or detail it so I am still essentially doing the same thing as I would at home, just not wasting water.

Question answered by Chatty Chick

it is better for the environmentt if you go to the car wash, and maybe cheaper, but if you just try to use less water, then it will be both cheaper and more eco-friendly!

What is the best kind of car wash to put in my gas station?

I need to purchase a new car wash for my gas station. I want something that does a good job of cleaning vehicles. So many models out there don't do a good job.

From what I can tell, automatic car washes cost almost as much to keep running as they make. But I'm no expert on the subject.

What is reasonable to charge for a charity car wash for the humane society per car?

My car wash is in the works. If all goes according to plan, it will be held at a self service bay at a professional car wash that will be donated for the day by the business. Since most likely volunteers will be bringing our supplies from home, I am not expecting more than a simple suds and rinse. How much of a donation can I charge?

Question answered by Cassandra

This is probably the number one fundraiser that our local school does to help raise funds for prom and sports. They usually sell tickets ahead of time and they were usually $5 each. This gave students the chance to sell tickets and get money up front. It also gave them an idea of how many cars they would be washing that day. And some of the time the people who bought a ticket don't show up, but that does not matter since you already have the money! Plus you will have people who will want to drive up to get their car washed. That means more money raised! Good luck.

How can I start a small car wash business?

My boyfriend and I work at car wash I work outside and inside doing register and he does detail work. A lot of the customers keep asking how come he can't get his own business. Well first it cost money and my credit is so bad. What is the simplest way to open a small hand wash detail center? What kind of structure can it be? Small building with canopy or what?

Can I deduct the cost of car washes if I'm using actually expenses deduction?

I'm planning to deduct the actual costs for a car that I am leasing that I use 100% for business. Can I deduct car washes?

Question answered by ninasgramma

Yes, car maintenance will be deductible in full.

Why do so many car washes have bars on their windows?

I've noticed it in most of the car washes I've been to. Some aren't in the best of neighborhoods but they're not neighborhoods where alot of businesses have bars on the windows in general. I live in the Detroit area by the way, but not the city. There are car washes I've seen with bars on the window in some of the safest neighborhoods and suburbs around here.

Because those places keep dollar bill machines and criminals like dollar bills.

Can an automatic car wash break a hard top convertible?

Can a hard top convertible malfunction by going through the automatic car wash? My car dealer told me that I would have to hand wash the car because the drying pressure would mess up the springs on the car top. Is the blower THAT strong? Has this happened to anyone else? I don't see a problem with it. Also there is no caution in the car manual.

Question answered by Octy a.k.a Octane★97

Certainly not, I've seen a lot of convertibles getting washed at automatic car washes. However, it is not recommended to get your car washed at automatic car washes, since the harsh rotation of the washers leave behind fine scratches on the paint job.
