Need help finding a company or supplier?

How do martial arts centres usually operate?

I am visiting a martial arts centre next week. I am maybe volunteering to work there. I was just wondering if anyone knows what is the general structure for a martial arts centre. Are they usually self funded, or do they get their funding from the government? Are they usually registered anywhere so they can access bursaries? Do sporting centres bid for bursaries and if so who bids on their behalf? Do they hire someone to bid for their bursaries?

Moit

Question answered by Kokoro

most are self funded, there are few that are not. as least few with store fronts. if they are registers they may be with an organization. there is no one single martial arts registry anywhere, many of them are separate or individual if they do belong to an organization. and most organizations will let you run your school independently. as for a bursaries. most of them wont know what that is. and they usually do there own book keeping internally as most of them are a small business.

How to go to the DBS Arts Centre, home of the SRT?

What is the nearest MRT station? And how to get to DBS Arts Centre from the nearest MRT?

Bloombygal

Question answered by Kingston D

The nearest MRT Station is NE5 Clarke Quay Station. Exit from C or E and transfer 54 at bus stop outside Central. Alight @ River Valley Rd, After Shell House. (3 bus stops, 5 min). From the bus stop, walk backwards to Merbau Road and turn into it. Walk till the end and you will reach there (its just opposite Robertson Quay Hotel). Or you can alight MRT @ NE4 Chinatown Station and Exit from Exit C. Transfer 143 at bus stop outside People's Park Complex. Alight @ Clemenceau Avenue, Outside UE Square. (2 bus stops, 5min). Walk backwards to Unity Street, turn into Unity Street and turn left into Merbau Road. The DBS Arts Centre is at the right side of the road.

What does a centre administrator do in an arts centre?

What jobs do they have to do? How would it support the arts centre and what other people they would work with within the industry

Why were art centres originally set up in Britain?

I'm looking for a brief history of why a lot of art centres were originally set up. I'm sure I remember hearing once that many were set up after WWII to aid regeneration.

Question answered by t d

That is certainly true of the South Bank Centre. The Barbican has an art centre too, which was designed for the needs of the residents there, and to enhance the project. Others, such as the Whitechapel, are much older, and were set up to bring culture to working class districts. This is similar to the ambitions of the galery at Port Sunlight

How is the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Buffalo setup?

I want to know how this performing arts center is setup. Are the seats all one level so that it is hard to see even if you have somewhat good seats, or are the seats elevated?

Can you bring a digital camera to the pnc bank arts center in holmdel nj?

Im going to see disturbed/a7x on August 29 at pnc bank arts center and im not sure if i can bring my digital camera because im reading that theyre not allowed and in other sites it says they are but professional cameras arent. so for people who have actually been there, can you tell me if they are allowed.. and if not , anyway i can sneak one in? ;)

DeathToast

Question answered by sumboi

usually events will allow cameras, but not professional cameras. Its common To sneak in a common small digital camera. -tape it to your leg under pants -hide it in a bag To sneak in a DSLR -take off the lens and give it to a friend to sneak in, while you sneak in the body. -hide it in a bag ... really depends on security

How did the Medici family become patrons of the art and turn Florence into a global art center?

I'm doing an essay on the Medici family, and one of my topics was how did they turn Florence ibto a global art center, and how come they became patrons of the art? Thanks in advance. Most detailed answer gets 10 points.

Question answered by Jessica

If you've read about the Medici's, you know that they were an enormous banking family in Florence with two members actually having been Pope at one time (Leo X and Clement VII). In order to gain favor with the church, which was a large center of control in Europe at the time, they commissioned large, spiritual works of art. Part of this may have also been to gain favor with the city government because of the amount of control they had over the land and wealthy. Banking wasn't exactly the "nicest" of occupations (with roots in usery - a very sinful practice). Everyone hates the rich guy in town and even more so if he keeps all of the wealth to himself. Over time, it just became a tradition that lasted from the 1400s into the 1600s up until the patrons of their family began dying out. During this time, they developed strong relationships with particular artists. As a result of this, these artists were provided the funds to become more experimental and expressive in their art, open studios, and become the celebrity artists that we know of today. Examples of this: Filippo Brunelleschi's reconstruction of the Basilica at San Lorenzo commissioned by Giovanni di Bicci de' Medici. Donatello's bronze David commissioned by Cosimo de' Medici as well as David's statue of Judith and Holofernes (although the latter was acquired later on) The Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence by Michelangelo commissioned by Pope Leo X (a Medici) The Marie de' Medici Cycle by Peter Paul Reubens - a series of 21 paintings commissioned by the wife and widow of Henry the IV of France which was a visual representation of Marie's own life. Fra Angelico and Raphael were also artists that were commissioned by Medici's Cosimo the Elder and Lorenzo the Magnificent. Hope this helps give you a start. Good luck in your studies!

How are performing art centers wired for sound?

I was wondering, during construction, what is used for wiring a performing art center? I am assuming that they don't use standard snakes to run from the stage to the booth.

The term "monster cable" is an understatement. Browse around the Markertek site - and multiply by several thousand pieces. Or read the Yamaha sound reinforcement manual - and despair . . . .

where should my performing arts center apply for a grant?

I work for a small performing arts center near Worcester MA. We are very much struggling financially at the moment. Where are some places you might suggest we apply to for a grant?

Pattie F

Question answered by mintchips49

First you need to be a not for profit 501 status. To get a grant, you need funding of your own first. Usually in the neighborhood of 20-40 thousand dollars to even be considered for a grant. Most grants have requirement like that.
