Need help finding a company or supplier?

Is there anyway that i can take one course alone to complete my mature diploma?

They have adult education centers but I would really rather not be in a classroom. One of the reasons that I haven't completed my education in the first place is discomfort in classrooms which incidentally distract me. I only need my math to receive my diploma at this point.

You will find countless online agencies that offer online courses for a GED or high school diploma; however, according to the Department of Education website: these private programs are not accredited. Your best bet is to check with your local community college to see what programs are available. Although you are not comfortable being in a classroom: remember, the students there are just as eager and distracted as you are ... Meet with a community college counselor: it could make a difference and save you money. Online programs, private ones, can be costly and not take your past credits. As technology and distance learning grows: you might find something that works: see the two links below. -Good Luck ...

How hard is it to learn how to make stained glass?

I love stained glass sun catchers etc and am interested in maybe enrolling for a course and don't know anyone who does this, I know it's not too easy but the results are wonderful. There's an adult education centre near me and I'm a bit worried they'll "sell it" to me without me really knowing too much about making it. Would you recommend it ?

I have taken a couple of weekend workshops in stained glass and made small ornaments. It is not extremely difficult, but it is time-consuming and not cheap, but I felt that it was worthwhile.

How do you start and manage a petition in Ontario?

I am thinking of starting a petition in Amherstview, Ontario. The bus system that runs here only comes once per hour, through business hours during the week, and on Saturday. There have been many complaints to the township of Loyalist, but nothing has been done about it. I want to petition to have the busses run in to late evenening, and on Sundays. I take the bus regularly, and there is always a full bus whenever I am on it. It only comes through my town once per hour, and I'd like them to increase it to every half an hour. The bus system, from what I understand, is actually rented out to the township of Loyalist from the City of Kingston. The city of kingston is only about a 8 minute drive, so it's not like there is a long distance between this town and the city. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, this is my first petition experience. I already have a partner that's willing to help, and we're looking for more people as well. How would I go about properly starting and submitting the petition? Do I need to notify anyone before I start it, or write any letters to get my request granted before starting the petition? Who do I submit it to once I have the signatures I need? I was thinking of spreading the word through posting a petition to sign at every bus stop in Amherstview, and posting it in public places like the grocery store bulliten board, the adult education centre bulliten board, the senior's centre and the recreation centre. Thanks!

The same way you do anywhere else.

Is there any safe online based school that can give you an accredited high school diploma?

I have two jobs right now and can't afford to loose them, I really want to get my high school diploma but don't have the time to go to an adult education center right now.

I give you credit for wanting to keep working, but earn your diploma. I suggest you try here: http://www.jmhsdiploma.com/# Not sure about their accreditation, so just be sure you check on that, but an old neighbor girl of mine got hers through here, and she said she checked out the accreditation thing. Good luck!

How would you fix / reword this writing in English?

About me: I am 35. I am a self taught English student. I am from Korea. I used to work for a school as an office manager in Korea and work as a public administrative worker in Canada. I quit my job as my English is not strong enough to work. I feel it is getting better and better. I will apply for a job next year(08) or so. My ultimate goal in Canada is to work for school as Education is my secial ability, its exercise, and my special talent. Thus, I am attending several adult education centres to improve my second language skills and to enhance English computer skills. I have to make my goal come true for my happiness. Cheers ! I totally misunderstood... I mean I am interested in education field not teaching students... I should've posted that I would like to work for a school as an office administrative or similiar job. Thanks for all your help. I found my big mistake today. I can't not modify or edit.. so I have to write again, haha.. I found a missing word: office administrative worker. May I say I can apply for a job in office supporting next year?

"I am a 35 year-old Korean lady, and have taught myself to speak English. I used to work for a school as an office manager in Korea, and now have a job as a public administration worker in Canada. I quit my job because my English is not strong enough to continue with it. However, I feel my language skills are getting better. Next year, 2008, I hope to apply for a job in the Canadian education system, either in office administration or as an administrative assistant since education has always been a special interest of mine. In the meantime, I have been attending several adult education centers to improve my second language skills and enhance my English computer skills. Making my goal come true is my biggest dream." I spelled "centers" as they do in the US, so you can spell it either way. Also, I would not end it with "Cheers"

How do I reconstruct this sentence to make it more coherent?

The institute has extensive resources to work in the field of conflict mediation. In addition to collaborating with adult education centers in Sub-Saharan West Africa, the institute will develop experience with the issue of state transitions and elections in Africa.

Question answered by Jas

It just means make it more understandable and logical. So you have to think about what you're writing about and express it in a slightly different way. One way to do this, yourself, is to imagine you were explaining it to a friend. It's much easier that way. Then write that down. Ie think casually, then write it formally. Without knowing the larger context of those 2 sentences, it's tough to really see how those 2 sentences together are "not coherent". If it makes sense, then tell the teacher it makes sense to you, and that should be coherent enough. Good luck. Hope some of my ideas help.

What would you suggest would be the best way for a 17 year old to go about redoing their GCSE's?

My younger sisters not very pleased with her marks(mostly B's) and wants to redo just maths and eng, I told her she could go to an adult education center just around the road that you only do one class a week with and it'd be free since she's under 19 but she doesn't seem too willing to do that. What would you suggest?

You can re-do maths and English at nearly every sixth form or college.

How can I get teaching qualifications to teach IT?

I wanted to teach PHP development at a local adult education center to adults who may be interested in developing dynamic websites. The center tells me that I will need teaching qualifications - this surprised me as I have over 15 years experience and have often taught other developers within my profession .. Is there a quick way to get the teaching qualifications required - I really don't want to spend 2 years to learn how to teach as its not going to my main profession..

What are questions one would ask a girl who is applying for a job as a waitress?

I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but: - I'm 19 years old - my only experience working is having been a casheer at a coffee shop for 4 months (therefore no past experience as a waitress) - I'm a student at an adult education center (completing highschool)

Question answered by MAGS

your employer will be trying to find out if you really want/need this job, how flexible you can be regarding working hours, if you will be able to get to work on time, if you will be reliable if you have good people skills- good customers service skills are mandatory for this position so use your experience as cashier in coffeeshop to give examples of these skills
